The problem with keeping those players is that Vey/Kassian/Jensen et al end up with fewer opportunities to succeed.
At some point a spot needs to be made for youth, might as well be when those vets have some value.

That's assuming all 12 forwards will be healthy, rarely is that the case. In fact, even with just one injury you would have room for all of those guys if Burrows got traded.

3 of them are rookies, plus you have Kassian who's (hopefully) still developing. Not sure how much more youth you'd want. Gaunce and Shinkaruk aren't ready.
