I was on sportsnet website looking at who they believe the front runners are to replace MacT when its all said and done and they had Blysma and Kennan lol....
These guy couldn't handle a scolding from Eakins can you imagine Iron Mike in there. Also Blysma doesn't have a bunch of super stars in Edmonton.
It's obvious that that team needs a Coach that can teach defemse but Boucher and his 1-3-1 is not going to help these guys. I really don't know who they should go with maybe Brent Sutter he got the best out of that Core in the world Juniors - duckyjets
Only 2 Oilers were on that WJHC team that didn't win. |

MacTavish, tbh.
But realistically he won't coach them for long, just u till he gets a feel for the locker room and smokes out the bad attitudes.
I'm not really sure about the ex NHL coaches like a a bylsma or Crawford....and don't know much about AHL coaches. |

then I have to agree. The Hawks were lucky to get so much with one draft choice. |

I don't know what coach would want to take that job with the old boys at the helm so I don't think they'll get a top tier guy. 30% of the league gets new coaches every year so if you're a Bylsma, you're not going to Edmonton. They should have kept Ralph.
The only silver lining is that Mac T was a good coach and maybe he'll realize that he's much better at that job than the GM one that he struggles at.
The only question that remains is whether or not he'll be the guy who trades Hall as Dreger predicts.

Dreger doesn't know poop from wild honey, and if Mac T discovers a problem in the locker room then yeah, I think he makes a move. |

Charities this Christmas season
Please do what you can for the less fortunate this Christmas season in any capacity that you can.
If it's giving some of your time or even just the tiniest of donations (food, clothes, toys, money) may make a world of difference to some child or adult this year.
My wife and I this year have decided to create gifts to charities in the names of our family members and gift it to them but have them deliver the packages to the charities we have chosen for them uniquely.
Please help where you can. Let us not forget those less fortunate. Thank you and I wish you all a very safe and Merry Merry Christmas!

No offense, but if it is not a locker room problem then what is it?
They have all of this talent, yet cant find their way out of a wet paper bag right now. |

The Oilers WAY over value their Talent... Its is rumored They want a stud dman a goalie and a center for what ?? Hall is good but nobody would trade a 1 dman for a fwd no less throw in a goalie and a center... All of the Oiler key pieces -- Hall Yak RNH Eberle have not done enough to warrant the kings ransom the oilers want.. These players are being valued by the Oilers by their potential and not what they have accomplished, in the CAP nhl you can't pay these kids based on their potential |

I agree and disagree. The Oilers are a train-wreck that has crashed into another train-wreck.
The talent they have, well good, has not proved to take this team anywhere. Taylor Hall is a damn good player, but the reports from multiple outlets about the locker room hurt him a bit, in my book.
That said trading for prospects is all about what a player will be, aka the potential he has. |

The truth is Hall could be a Seguin on another team. So could RNH and Eberle. Even Yak could be a stud playing under leadership.
The problem is the management. All the way to the top.
You need a core player at every position. #1 goalie, #1 D, #1 forward. The rest can be had through trades and Free Agency.
All the Oils have is 3 and a half top forwards.
Chicago has Toews-Keith-Crawford
Boston has Bergerons-Chara-Rask
LA has Kopitar-Doughty-Quick
Oilers need to lose out on a deal to get that stud D. Take a chance on a young upcoming D or Risk on a guy in his prime. This years first and Hall could get that.
However, they will decide to develop one. By the time he's ready, they will have lost out on Hall, RNH and Eberle to free agency or trade requests. Oh and miss on on playoffs too.. |

you're full of it.
Which "STUD" dman was listed?
Link?
And how do u know it's not a package? And no franchise defender was ever named.
It was a chance for u to get a troll in attempting to use plausible logic.
and if ur trying to say oiler fans over value, we'll that wouldn't matter. Cause we don't make the decisions.
u don't know what mact values his players as. But regardless, he's not giving them away for a couple checkers and a low pick. Cause this wouldn't make us better.
I didn't think it was possible, but the level of posting has actually gone down on hb |
