Edmonton in danger of becoming the first sub 50 point team in the modern salary cap era
Currently on pace for 50 pts, would be the lowest point total in franchise history for a full season, eclipsing the current franchise low mark of 60 pts in the 1992-93 season
Historic waters here for MacTavish |

Also since Edm was not getting far value in a trade package here is a bit better package for them
Stafford
Myers
Gorges
Enroth
NYI and STL 1sts
Eberle
1st
Scrivens
Nikitin
Petry
Edm gets a number 1 goalie in Enroth, They get a Top pair of defensmen. We take over an expiring contract in Petry and a bad contract in Nikitin. We also get Eberle and Edm 1st because lets be honest, McDavid Or Eichel. And lets be honest here, Neither McDavid or Eichel will help save this team. The team lacks Defense and goaltending no scoring power. Also with 2 later round firsts they can pick up some more defensemen in the draft. And Drew Stafford is just a throw in to replace Eberle on the wing. - danwest58

they have already adjusted the odds largely due to the Oilers tanking...also next year its a lottery for the first 3 picks
Oilers have picked #1 #1 #1 #7 #4 top 3 likely this year
shameful to say the least, no other team is even close to that level of tankage - flashfire

When things hit rock bottom....no where to go but up.Let MacTavish sit behind the bench through this season. Come May 1st
Move #1:New Coach
5 Year Deal
Jeff Blashill: It could be just a matter of time before Blashill lands an NHL job. Mike Babcock has made that clear in recent interviews, as the Grand Rapids Griffins bench boss is one of the most respected AHL coaches in the league. He’s done an excellent job developing Detroit’s prospects in Grand Rapids and helped lead the team to a Calder Cup last season
Move #2:
A new GM from the ranks of Asst GMs from the best run teams in the league. LA,Chicago,Tampa Bay,Anaheim or Boston
Moves #3-15:
Other than MacDavid...draft and trade for Defencemen. Yes Hawks re built with Toews,Sharp,Hossa and others but their true strenghth is on the back end.
Keith,Seabrook,Hammer,Oduja and more recently TVR,Dahlback,,etc etc. Even traded for a #6 DMan yesterday.
Move#4:
Trade for an up and coming Goalie x 3 of them. - Colbyboy
You do realize how incredibly lucky the Hawks got with Seabrooke and Keith?
And then how incredibly lucky they got to have Hossa and Keith on those contracts? No team has the depth in the top 6 like the Hawks do. They have 4 legit first line players and 2 more great second liners.
Say what you want but the Hawks go incredibly lucky to assemble such a team in a salary cap world with very few "kids" on their team |

These Isle fans see 2 months of NHL hockey over past 15 years and all of a suddenly they are throwing stones In their glass house.
I saw another fan base do the same thing last year..before they slide from 1st at end of October to like 14th in the Conference by end of March.
Relax NYI fans, in the great words of Led Zepplin...Your time is gonna come! |

Blashil just signed a new 3 years deal in the summer.
He isn't going anywhere.
He is insurance in case Babs bolts somewhere.
And Blashil is being paid like the NHL coach, I think. |

I imagine over the coming months we'll read far worse than this 1000x, but I'm not sure EDM wants that Richards contract. |

Yeah. I know it's not he greatest offer but I think edm really needs to get a good young goalie not named scrivens. They wanted Bernier and I think jones is better than Bernier.
Pearson is a good up and coming winger that would help with hall being gone (NO I'm not saying he has as much talent as hall) but the talent and speed is there. Good playmaker too.
Richards yeah would need to be included.
And of course the almighty 1st most likely 2015
Not that I want to but I considered adding forbort or Zykov and thought maybe that's TOO much for hall
EDIT
Richards may not even have to be traded with this voynov case getting a lot more real. He most likely is off the kings and deported to Russia. My main guess is a mutual termination of the contract will come in offseason possibly sooner |

I don't know why people are surprised. This is Step 1 of a 5 step process when a GMs job is on the line.
Step 1: Fire Coach
Step 2: Desperation Trade
Step 3: Fire GM
Step 4: ????
Step 5: Profit |

I disagree. They keep recycling guys who have not had success in Lowe, MacTavish and Howson(who was a disaster in CBJ). I guess I really wish I had Darryl Katz money. Cause if I were him, so many poeple would be fired it would make Vince McMahon and Donald Trump poop their pants. - glove_was_stuck
Huh how is Howson a disaster, the team that made the post season last year was pretty much his team, he handled the Rick Nash trade as any gm would and appart from the Carter debacle he did some decent moves. |

tbf, some of them are joking. but some of them do seem to fit your description. you gotta love hockey fans. they are some of the best and some of the worst people in the world. |

If I was a Penguins fan I would. I would send Malkin to Edmonton for Hall in a heartbeat. Hall and Sid on the same line. Dam. In Buffalo no I dont want him here. I want Eberle. The Funny thing is I dont know why a Hockey Trade is not made here. Eberle for Myers. A 1 for 1 trade. Edmonton has a need in the back end and Myers could help that, Sabres have a problem scoring goals Eberle could help in that department. Its a need for need and honestly I think they are both fairly valued in that type of trade. Problem is hockey trades seem to lacking in todays NHL - danwest58
You're on a roll with the comments in this thread. Your Sabres fans are going to disown you. Don't worry Sabres fans, I know the vast majority of you are smarter than a bag of rocks. |

I thought you Sabres fans would be tuckered out from drawing up extremely lopsided trade proposals in your teams favour after last years "the World for Ryan Miller" year long gong show, but it appears you have plenty of Derp left after all.

I was on sportsnet website looking at who they believe the front runners are to replace MacT when its all said and done and they had Blysma and Kennan lol....
These guy couldn't handle a scolding from Eakins can you imagine Iron Mike in there. Also Blysma doesn't have a bunch of super stars in Edmonton.
It's obvious that that team needs a Coach that can teach defemse but Boucher and his 1-3-1 is not going to help these guys. I really don't know who they should go with maybe Brent Sutter he got the best out of that Core in the world Juniors |
