Bubble Boy Bennett's situation is getting laughable.

Except Stewart sucks.
- usethe1-2-2

Yeah but he could play third line minutes and be a net front presence, I'm not saying he's our savior but he's better than adams and is a physical presence and he and downie on the same line could really piss other teams off, and if it doesn't work out his contract is up. He's basically a placeholder for Sundquist the same way stafford is for Kapanan

I distinctly remember when Dupuis went out the rest of the season with his blood clot thinking to myself "It can't get much worse than this". Oh how far we've come
- Id_Puck_Me

And to think after 3 weeks I thought the Pens were off to a great start health wise!

You'd think that job would be radioactive for most coaches. I think Dan will do the wise thing and wait for a better opportunity.

Bylsma turned down Florida in the summer, there is no way he's going to edmonton, not a chance.

The Maatta thing is really concerning. It doesn't sound good if he's seeking second opinions. That's a big blow to this team if he's having a second surgery.

If I am Edmonton I go out and get a true transitional coach. Torts.
- usethe1-2-2

Torts wouldn't be a terrible move for a team of young guys who look like they don't care at times. But after like 6 coaches in 6 years, the hardass coach wouldn't have any support. Players would just assume if they don't play well, he'd get fired too.

Ownership has to clean house from Lowe on down. All the coaching changes in the world won't change that.

There is really no coach who could have any support though. It is a toxic job. That is why they will go to Messeir and let him do whatever he wants.

He might be better than Adams but he certainly isn't worth the asking price. He is slow, lazy, and rarely goes to the net. He has too high a cap hit and too low a ceiling to take a chance on. If you want third liners you get ones who can skate and cause damage, not failed top six guys who can't play a two way game.

BTW Gunner, nice job on the article, however when it comes to Tanguay his past few seasons show me that he can't be trusted. Plus an additional season is a bit much.

Wait for Jersey a few more weeks to be in last and then get Jagr.

I will give up three years of my life Beau Bennett to play at least 68 games each season for the rest of his career.

No to Tanguay.

BTW I would pair Harrington with Ehrhoff. Harrington is a true stay at home defenseman and Ehrhoff has the experience to settle him down and help him. I think he is the best in terms of pure defensive skill and sound judgement, Harrington is so solid among our prospects.

I had this shoulder surgery twice on the same shoulder, granted i got about 5 years out of it before I needed it again...I didn't play much hockey in those 5 years and when I finally started playing again is when it got reinjured...if it is in fact the labrum again he will need to have the surgery regardless of how much he strengthens it, the shoulder will just keep popping out

it doesnt take much with how fast and strong NHLers are for that weak point to be pushed to the max, basically if you are holding your arm out grabbing someone and they swat your arm away or your arm gets pulled back even just a little, it can pop out...the more you injure it the easier it is to dislocate it, inbetween my first and second surgery I probably dislocated my shoulder 7-10 times, fortunately it would go back in within about 5-10 minutes and I didnt keep having to go back to the E.R.

As much as I like how klink has been playing, the pens could have traded samuelsson for morin. I really thought the pens should have grabbed him with their lack of young offensive players

I have no idea what type of person Morin is, but maybe the Pens didn't care to deal with a completely unproven 2nd round pick who was making demands to one of the best organizations in the NHL.

I don't think Bennett was anywhere close to playing. Wasn't practicing with the team. HCMJ said last week that he was pretty far away. Said the same thing about Kunitz unfortunately.

I have been chewing cope snuff since I was 15. Everyone that wrestled chewed it so I tried it and never chewed anything else. I still remember having one in at football practice and getting hit so hard I swallowed the entire dip, awful. I should have quit right then and there lol.

I quit about 30 months ago. Still miss it. Good news is that i plan to start again when I turn 70. Bad news is that is 32 years away.

Yeah I was thinking along the same lines. Half the lineup is out and a player like Morin is available, only to go to CBJ's?

Seeing lots of nos to Tangs. Guy has been one of the Avs best most consistent forwards this season, he wont be going anywhere...especially since Iggy signed there to play with him again.

Briere could be a depth at the deadline pick up, hes playing well as a RW.

and since Talbot has MacKinnon living in his basement, don't think he goes anywhere either.

McGinn would have been the most logical target if he didn't have season ending back surgery

Yeah the Oilers should find a Johnson type coach. Someone that is waiting for their chance with teh big leagues. Bringing in another vet coach will be teh same result. Management will fire him cuz they think their plethora of 1st rnders over the years are worth the moon.
- sammy87

If I read it right, 6 out of their last 8 coaches debuted as HC's for Edmonton. Theyre like the Flyers in the sense that they have a lot of former players running the show.
I don't think they need another inexperienced coach to handle inexperienced players. I think Disco would be a good fit. He is a younger coach that the players could relate to and has a cup on his resume.

You guys are so harsh on Ryan. You'll never find a blogger who agrees with everything you believe. Just be thankful he keeps churning out blogs for us to read and debate on. No need to take it so personal.
- YouMeAndDupuis9

I think that overall he does an excellent job and writes a very informative blog. The fact that he comes up with something that is interesting and discussion worthy is a huge credit to him and his dedication to the blog. That having been said, his almost constant negativism towards his trio of favorite whipping boys (MAF, Scuderi, and Adams) is pretty obvious, especially when he seems almost incapable of giving them any kind of sincere praise when they do something positive. We all have our favorites and guys we dread, so calling him on it shouldn't be any bigger deal than when the rest of us in the peanut gallery tease Bartley for his hatred of Sutter (which I think is presently the best running joke on the blog).
