Don't forget these things can mutate and becoming 'immune' themselves to our vaccines.
It is why research is always done to try and make sure we stay ahead of an outbreak.
Kinda hard to keep it out of a league with so many areas to incubate and be passed on. - walshy66
I read today that 23,000 people in the US are already dying each year from bacterial infections. Let's hope a new mechanism antibiotic comes into production soon. |

I think some of us take his negativity of these players 'personally'.
Gunner looks at these (espeically Fleury) from a cap value point of view.
I am constantly defending Fleury when we chat before and after our podcasts, as for Scud and Adams, I really do agree with Gunner on their negative output for this roster.
If you listen to our podcast you will know that I was pretty sure the Penguins were going to move on from MAF, and I am still unsure if signing him was the right idea.
The only way us Penguins fans are going to know if signing him was the right idea will be getting to the Conference finals and if we lose there and its not MAF's fault.
It is pretty obvious to see that this version of MAF is a lot closer to the 07-08 playoff run than we have watched since.
I am hoping Ryan is wrong in his assessment of MAF, but that is purely from a 'fan love' point of view. - walshy66
I've been saying for several years that Dan's system was a goalies nightmare. So far this year the team has been much better defensively and MAF is proving to be very good again. Only time will tell if he can continue this pace, but I don't think it's a coincidence that MAF has played some great hockey (maybe the best of his career) under this new coach.

Giving up the quick subsequent goal sucked, but coming out of that period tied is plenty right now. |

Every yr the flu kills like 30k ppl in the US. But most of those cases are elderly, young, immune deficiencies etc...But a virus that is extremely rare thats affecting men in their prime is something of concern. |

Oh absolutely. They could be down 2 at this point. Maybe more. Some good things though. Fleury playing well. Just needs to settle down a bit. Taking a simpler approach and pushing the play would be good.
Dumoulin looks better this evening. Much rather he play than Bortuzzo anyway. With Maatta out, mobility and offensive touch are needed. |

Then add in the fact that the team went to the children's ward at a local hospital(Bennett included) and it's even more scary. With this going on, there's no reason any players should be in that position. Have to hold it off. Symptoms take 10-25 days to show. Could potentially kill a child in their state. |

Yeah it's the next big problem that few are talking about. I'm working to become a computer engineer so a lot of what I read about is emerging technologies and materials. A little under a year ago I recall reading about researchers discovering that adding silver nano particles to vaccines gave a great boost to their effectiveness. Then there was the prospects of using carbon nanotubes to better target cancers and release dosages of insulin or other medicines.
Those all tie into the only thing I can see truly stopping super viruses, which are nano machines that will occupy our bloodstream to help our immune systems or hinder them in the case of auto immune. I can see a world where it will be common to have these in our bodies our entire lives from the moment we are born to continously provide us with our own medical information and the steps to correct and take a more active role in our own health. Of course you'll have the nuts and crazies who will resist this but the benefits far out way the risks or privacy concerns. But I digress. |

I agree with everything you've said and ive definitely seen more than enough games now to not just consider it a wishful theory. The only thing is, if this is one of those "career years" where a goalie plays out of his mind for one season, then this might be flowers varlamov year and therefor one of the best chances this team will have to win another cup. So we need to make the best move or two to shore up the top6 and go into the playoffs healthy imo.

Idk who well get via trade this season but I don't want to give up Sutter period. If sundqvist can make the team next season I'd love to have Sutter on the wing in the top 6. Either way our depth might be crazy good next year. |

Sill isn't good enough without the puck to ever be in position to get the puck. |
