If I read it right, 6 out of their last 8 coaches debuted as HC's for Edmonton. Theyre like the Flyers in the sense that they have a lot of former players running the show.
I don't think they need another inexperienced coach to handle inexperienced players. I think Disco would be a good fit. He is a younger coach that the players could relate to and has a cup on his resume. - all-pgh
I think a hard ass Therien type is in order. Get yourself a Torts or Keenan and shape up the lockerrom. Build an identity sort of coach. |

According to information from CDC, roughly 15 out of 100 adults with mumps develop meningitis. Mumps can be very dangerous for adults |

I can't believe someone let Beau out of his bubble. This is what happens when he's exposed to the elements. He should be kept in a case until 5 minutes before puck drop and returned to the case immediately after. |

I think that over he does an excellent job and writes a very informative blog. The fact that he comes up with something that is interesting and discussion worthy is a huge credit to him and his dedication to the blog. That having been said, his almost constant negativism towards his trio of favorite whipping boys (MAF, Scuderi, and Adams) is pretty obvious, especially when he seems almost incapable of giving them any kind of sincere praise when they do something positive. We all have our favorites and guys we dread, so calling him on it shouldn't be any bigger deal than when the rest of us in the peanut gallery tease Bartley for his hatred of Sutter (which I think is presently the best running joke on the blog). - Emperor Filonius

He might be better than Adams but he certainly isn't worth the asking price. He is slow, lazy, and rarely goes to the net. He has too high a cap hit and too low a ceiling to take a chance on. If you want third liners you get ones who can skate and cause damage, not failed top six guys who can't play a two way game. - usethe1-2-2
By the trade deadline most of his salary will have been paid, maybe playing on a contender team will motivate him and because he needs a contract for next year he might bust his butt. In a bottom 6 role he can provide some more toughness \for the playoffs if nothing else he can protect his teammates and make sure Crosby has a little easier time than last year. |

You guys are so harsh on Ryan. You'll never find a blogger who agrees with everything you believe. Just be thankful he keeps churning out blogs for us to read and debate on. No need to take it so personal. - YouMeAndDupuis9
Ryan is an excellent writer and provides fantastic statistical support to all of his insight I just think he would be better suited to write for a team he actually likes instead of a team with one player he likes, one player he doesn't mind and the rest of the players he hates with a red hot passion. |

Its sad..I haven't gone more than like 2 days without it. Deep down I know I should quit but its just too good sitting in the office or driving the car or after a meal...pretty much any excuse I can think of haha. |

Seeing lots of nos to Tangs. Guy has been one of the Avs best most consistent forwards this season, he wont be going anywhere...especially since Iggy signed there to play with him again.
Briere could be a depth at the deadline pick up, hes playing well as a RW.
and since Talbot has MacKinnon living in his basement, don't think he goes anywhere either.
McGinn would have been the most logical target if he didn't have season ending back surgery - DDM-Coga
I still want ROR for what its worth... |

Well put...at the end of the day, having actual opinions and observations is 10x better than "The Penguins play Tampa Bay at 7pm tonight. They have such an such record this season. This person is injured. (end puff piece)" |

"Tonight is going to be an uphill battle against Tampa Bay given the Penguins lineup deficiencies right now. Taking any points would be impressive and would probably mean that Fleury had quite a game."
Heck Ryan, maybe Craig Adams can 'forget who he really is" again, and help the Pens steal a game against Tampa Bay. Btw, he actually made TWO great moves on Letang's goal the other night... the first was bringing the puck out of his own zone by chipping the puck to himself... and then he made the crispy pass to Letang.
You always write SO much about him, but yet you failed to call this out. He is, after all, ONLY a fourth-liner in the NHL. One of the best actually, if there is such a thing. You seem almost jealous at times. Was he mean to you at a youth hockey camp in days gone by... or something? - skridscousin
So how are you to related Grinder? I'm sure Adams will help the Pens steal a game since he's done it so many times. The next thing you will say is how bad Malkin sucks. |

What an absolute joke that was. "OH he missed his teammates. blah blah blah"
They found blood all over that apartment. That little skate will turn out to be a huge black eye on that franchise. |
