no chance....those are murray's "golden eggs". both are top six forwards who he snagged late in the draft and then developed. i imagine he'd want a hefty price for either (relatively speaking) - sensarmy_11
Fair enough. Seems like we had some of those late round gems in the pipeline like Zlobin and Archibald....but now I don't really seeing either panning out. |

it's usually hard for guys like that to pan out unless they happen to be coming through the system at a time when there is an opportunity for them to play.
ottawa obviously isn't winning this year (even playoffs are doubtful), so it's easier to justify giving ice time to these guys to see what they can do.
a team like pitt is a contender, so you guys maybe don't have the same kind of "wiggle room" to let young guys like that get top six ice time with the big club. |

Oh I know, just saying I'm glad we didnt chase Morin when there are better options like Tlusty (imo)...even knowing now in hindsight that Morin's was pretty cheap, imo.
I really want a skill guy who can create in the top 6....but Kassian is one of a few exceptions. He's very good in the corners and winning puck battles, which would open up space for 87 or 71, plus he still has a lot of upside in terms of his offensive game. That's kind of why I think Kassian + a more skill oriented player would be a great mix.
Maybe takes some minor tweaking to get the deals to work but
Despres for Kassian
Sutter for Perron
Gives us a really nice roster. We could even try to get a cheap Sutter replacement if necessary by using Martin, Spaling, or Dumoulin. OR just keep Sutter and get Tlusty instead of Perron. - YouMeAndDupuis9
I'm not on board the Sutter trade bandwagon. I never was. Maybe if Sundqvist is ready next season.
I also am not a Kassian fan. I think Tlusty brings a nice punch to the top six and a guy like Bergenheim could be a floater to provide good strong depth. I also think those moves cost less together than what it would take to get a younger power forward. |

Yep, Michalek is physical enough for his level of skill. When healthy he's a hard working bottle of energy, similar to Hornqvist. He can also kill penalties. He could score 35 again with Sid, I have no doubt.
He's only got 2 goals on the year, but then you look and his shooting percentage is at .048% right now.
Would Bryan Murray do business with the Penguins? |

Ah well thats the big difference...I think Kassian would thrive here. Different strokes for different folks. |

No thanks on Tanguay.
It would be a big mistake to get rid of Sutter.
Hoping to see Harrington get some valuable ice time in the bigs.
You really have to question the medical staff and organization for putting the team in jeopardy by having Sid participate with the team during this mumps outbreak. |

would the pens have any interest in milan michalek?
just turned 30, so not young, but not exactly old. he has produced very well when playing with good linemates (which he obviously would in pitt) while maintaining a solid 2-way game. sens just signed him to a new deal, but because they're trying to give more ice time to young players (stone, hoffman, lazar, etc), he's slipped to the 3rd line.
i think he would be fantastic on malkin's wing, and i can't imagine the sens would want much in return (unless they were eating salary). injuries used to be a bit of a concern, but he hasn't missed any time in the last 2 years, and seems to have his speed back also.
just a thought. - sensarmy_11
Not sure if it's the case because I can't recall seeing Michalek play lately but I loved his speed. I think $4 mil is a little pricey for us unless it's like mediocre pick/prospect plus spaling for him. I can't remember how long his deal was for that might scare me away |

With the issues this medical staff have discovered over the past year I'm giving them a pass. Honestly Mumps aren't bad it's not like they missed cancer or a blood clot |

Yeah Pens med staff has done some questionable things recently. The way they handles Sids brain was pretty bad. I remember a report inbetween periods of the WC he looked lost in teh locker. They said he was GTG, then again against TBL? Sid basically had to on his own to use DR Carrick to get treatment in ATL. |

"Tonight is going to be an uphill battle against Tampa Bay given the Penguins lineup deficiencies right now. Taking any points would be impressive and would probably mean that Fleury had quite a game."
Heck Ryan, maybe Craig Adams can 'forget who he really is" again, and help the Pens steal a game against Tampa Bay. Btw, he actually made TWO great moves on Letang's goal the other night... the first was bringing the puck out of his own zone by chipping the puck to himself... and then he made the crispy pass to Letang.
You always write SO much about him, but yet you failed to call this out. He is, after all, ONLY a fourth-liner in the NHL. One of the best actually, if there is such a thing. You seem almost jealous at times. Was he mean to you at a youth hockey camp in days gone by... or something? |

Interesting to break up Malkin and Comeau. We are now officially a 1 line team.
Malkin-Sutter-Hornqvist
Comeau-Goc-Downie
Spaling-Adams-Farnham

Excited/hoping to see Harrington get some ice time tonight. |

Wonder if we should be concerned about Pouliot's surgery. Not saying Maatta's "relapse" has any bearing on DP...but I hope neither of them rushed back. |

Ryan will indeed have a heart attack with your 'misguided' suggestion to move the dreaded Craig Adams up to 3rd line center !! |

Yea, Penguins tweeted it out from the morning skate. Of course, that isn't always a guarantee to what lines we will run with tonight...nonetheless, I can't process how we can pull out a win tonight. |

Ok Ryan here is Goc's chance to prove you right and show with descent linemates he can be close to as good as Sutter. Not taking into account Sutters play tonight and beyond if he's playing with 71/72. |
