Would be huge to string together a 6 or 7 game win streak here and take advantage of the games we have in hand. The flames are on a 5 game losing streak, then back to back against the canes who aren't a playoff team, caps who are a team we've more or less dominated over the past few years and a struggling devils team. The points are there for the taking.

Looking even further ahead we then have a stars team who are struggling but are very dangerous followed by florida and buffalo who should be another couple wins. Really light schedule for the rest of the year before a west coast trip that has us play the ducks, kings, and sharks.

Honestly with maybe the exception of the Caps game there is no reason why this can't turn into an 8 game win streak

they gotta dump Eakins.

With so many offensively gifted players, on that ice surface, to be playing that system is borderline criminal. They miss Pouliot though, he was the best player in the game at MSG by a mile.

Is there a more depressing place to watch a hockey team than in Edmonton right now?

Wasted talent up front, defense is still patch work and the goaltending not much better. It's so ugly out there right now I wonder when ownership is going to say enough is enough.

I like the way Hayes is coming along but a times he makes one too many moves . Twice last night he was in a great shooting postion but tried one more move and didn't get the shot away . He is a nice surprise thou

Too bad he broke his twig on that one time pass from Stemp, probably would have scored there

Caps are beatable but let's take this one game at a time. Calgary is slumping but they are still a team that can beat many, especially at home. Carolina back to back seems like an easy four points but again other than Edmonton, who beat the Rangers this season, no team in this league should be taken for granted.

Remember when everyone and their mother wanted Eakins as a head coach. Wonder if this stint will hurt his future chances.

Also looks like a guy who'd be a great accountant somewhere

That team is constructed completely wrong. He was given crap to work with, so crap came out.. no goaltending, no defense, and a bunch of kids who have been given huge contracts without having to prove themselves. The entitlement there alone is enough to predict basement dwelling... again...

MacTavish and Lowe need to get fired too.

This lineup is atrocious and they have had the benefit of an incredible amount of high end draft picks for the entire part of this nine year debacle.

Just a thought when Brassard gets back...maybe move Miller to 3rd line center and Hayes to the wing? If they want to keep Kreider in the top 6. I thought Miller looked good at center as well.

I think miller looks better on the wing. Hayes has looked good at center.

Agreed. But if they go 7 of 8 they're the worst team in sports and it's the same old story.

He should move to the wing, switch Miller and Kreider and have Miller Center that line

I wouldn't mind seeing Hayes on the wing for a few games.

I wouldn't mind seeing Marisa Miller in my bed, but I doubt either is happening anytime soon.

I'm kind of against this.

I know his f/o skills stink, but he's done too much outside of the circles for me to start tweaking with his game. There are a lot of other responsibilities a centerman has outside of f/o and I like what i see in those areas from Hayes. If we switch him to wing, he might digress in those areas. I'd rather stick with it and let him build on his poor qualities at this point.

I might be clinging on this idea of finally having a true big center, but hey, when in Rome
