What is the Eagles organization going to give up to get Mariota. You know Chip wants him, and the kid does look great and seems to have a good head on his shoulders

they don't have anything to give that would get them up that high. it is also starting to look like chip is andy 2.0 with the lack of awareness at certain skill positions (andy = receiver, chip = qb) the whole "any quarterback can succeed in this system" has me worried

Foles wasn't that bad. He got a lot of heat but he was ok. Sanchez can't throw the deep ball like Foles could. I love Chip's system but the Eagles just seem to be not quite there yet. I think Tampa will end up with Mariota....( they should tank last 2 games)

its football u need a strong offensive line period. if chip is that dumb to give up in foles so quickly then hes a clown. nfl qb's typically should get a good 3-4 years before you pass a verdict on them.

Foles was actually pretty bad this year. He'll never play as great as he did last year, but he probably won't play as poorly as he did earlier. That said, unless he ever goes on some E. Manning type of run at the right time, he's not the guy to win you a championship.

Yeah, I don't think they have the resources to move up to get him either. The only way I see them having a chance at him is if teams start to label him as a system QB after the combine or private workouts and he slides a little. But again, don't see that happening with TB and the NYJ up there.

I don't think Chip believes that. He's just playing the hand he's dealt. Chip has said many times that it's hard to win without good play from your QB. He said that's true of all levels: high school, college and professional.

Kelly snagged Mariota as a recruit and still went after Manziel. He had him signed, but Manziel decided against him him because Oregon was too far from home. If Kelly coached somewhere in Texas, Manziel would have played for him.

I'm telling you, Kelly knows how important the position is and he will do whatever it takes to get a good QB
