Can't rely on him to be ready and guessing Benning likes prospects to develop a bit before slotting them in...

Don't want to be like Edmonton offering up the 2C position to Draisitl when they had no clue if he was ready or not. nuts.

Has it hurt BO? Different conditions. Oilers throw their draft picks to the wolves and expect them to play top minutes.

I could see Virtanen coming in of 4 th line minutes and playing 10 -12 a night

The reason I think he will be given a serious look next year is because JB almost wanted to see if he was ready this year before the season started.

He was pretty determined to keep Bo or Jensen or both this year but Jensen was not ready.

No, it hasn't hurt Bo, but you are right it is different.

Just wondering how it will work. Different players and different situations and likely different results.

But you just don't know if players are ready until you see them at camp and what they are like during those first 9 games. Who knows if Bo would have stuck if he didn't have his injury and had extra time to be evaluated?

Due to his late birthday you've gotta remember he's a lot younger than most kids that are drafted. He just turned 18 a month and a half ago, give the kid some time.

Benning and Trevor say 2 things determine whether you are NHL ready.
1 must have a mans body
2 how you play when you don't have the puck.

Virtanen has a mans size body

Depends on #2

I guess it depends on who they find to fill top 6 holes. We need two top 6 players

You are tanking. Look at all your NA players. That is why you are getting shut out.

I am looking forward to seeing where he is at next year, just don't want to give a spot in the lineup before he is ready. Getting eased into the lineup like Bo is likely the right plan.

Don't want to see the same mistakes here as in Edmonton, but they are different situations and different decision makers. Benning has been sensible so far.

Virtanen needs to dominate this season in junior before we have this discussion I think.

Any managers that put a full top six of 18 to 21 year olds out there and expect them to succeed are complete idiots. You NEED older players to insulate those kids from carrying the load all on their own...or you see what happens.

Holy poop. I see lots of nice Thunderjet river boats on the Skeena. They make one of the best.

yeah confusing stategy? Dressing half the man games with having 5 AHL players in your line up and not getting temp replacement players for injured players suggests major tank .... yet no first rounder......confusing
