I don't think Benning is done yet, teams are all in wait mode. If the right pieces become available at a fair price, I think we will see a couple of positional trades.

I've got a nicer boat

With the current lineup we have the ever so 'slightest' chance of making it in to the top 8 in the west and we will need some help getting there.

If a few smart aquisitions/trades are made our chances will be upgraded to 'good' chance of making the playoffs.

With Miller's inconsistency and us being one of the worst teams in the league right now 5/5 it is gonna be super tough to get in.

You know that ain't ever happening, so I'd let it go...fight the fights you can win. The team can compete, like this year, then suck for a year or two, then compete again. All the while compiling draft picks and setting the franchise up for success.

The team had better draft well in the next two years because when the twins retire in three or four years...they're in for a world of hate. Those boys have been such a tremendous part of the success this team has had over the past 13 years it's not even funny.

That is the framework I am thinking of... with Jensen slotting in somewhere and maybe one or two of Hansen, Higgins, and Burrows moving on. And the acquisition of a top 6 finishing winger.

One of my hockey fantasies is to watch the Canucks draft 1st overall. As long as Benning builds our organizational depth over the next few years, I'm not worried. We'll be able to sign free agents, hopefully land a top3 pick, and let the kids graduate; all of this will hopefully keep us out of "Oiler" territory.

Life after the Sedins will be tough, but I don't think we're in for a decade of mediocrity like some Canadian teams.

Vey? He's an RFA not a UFA next year. He was acquired so the team could compete this year IMO, they really wanna make the playoffs.

Should be thinking that now for the transition when Hank can't handle it anymore... After this contract, I don't think he will be a 1c anymore. Damn, he looked beat at the end of that road trip.

IMO he's three years away from playing in the NHL. He needs to play this year and next year in junior then see where he's at.

That's the truth and the sooner they start to plan for it the better. We are still mostly a third line team . No top end talent or very little .
