I wouldn't mind Reeves from Stl. He always stands out come playoff time. Big masher. Can play some. -- NO

Joel Ward as a rental. Perhaps a draft pick. -- Maybe for a 5th?

Neil from Ottawa. I think he could be had for 1 or our prospects + pick. -- never.

Erik Cole. Draft pick or two. Could get hot for a playoff run. -- i dont like really old UFAs

Travis Moen. -- we think Spaling is bad value?

Nick Foligno -- yes, but way too expensive to get as a UFA right now..

Antoine Vermette -- only if we're dealing Sutter

(none of this meant to be condescending, just dont agree on giving up assets for most of these guys)

Why a hard no on Neil from Ottawa?

EDIT: Actually, the more I think about Neil from Ottawa....that intrigues me. Wonder if they'd be open to moving him? He's $1.9 this year and next so the #'s would work. 35 yrs old. Nasty.

Doumolin + 3rd round pick for Neil and 5th round pick.

Neil and Downie...now that's more like it. 87, 71, 58..you are now free to skate wherever you wish with no fear...

Hah! I couldn't have guess that one. Been suspended before? If so than you're on Bart's list of favorite players.

Pens get Tlusty and Neil for say Doumo and some picks. This is a more balanced, tougher roster. Teams get frisky with 87 or 71 give Neil a shift with them.

I hate the way you do lines so much... You don't keep the centers in the middle >_<

I'm getting Morin and Tlusty if I'm JR. That should be helpful depth until the deadline, where if need be you swing a big deal.
I don't want an Oshie because Kapanen will be here next season and their games are similar. Sundqvist is also a playoff body option in the bottom six if he finishes his season in time.

Always thought Brouwer would be a decent addition. I haven't really kept up with him over the past season however.

I loved Tim Kerr......man do I feel Philthy saying that.

Guy was as wide as he was tall. Camped out in front of the net and was impossible to move.

He was a monster. However he's lucky he was born when he was because he wouldn't be able to keep up in todays game. But man what a beast in front of the net.

Certainly later in his career, but although he was never a great skater he had really good hands. Unfortunately, I think the NHL is slowly reverting back to those days.

I also was a fan of Dino Ciccarelli. I'm sure a lot people around here hate him, but that guy could play. Not a big guy, but scored a ton of goals while taking a lot of punishment.

I strangely have an affection for players that routinely stabbed the Pens in the heart.

I would've loved carbomb here.. he was always a solid depth player. Took a lot of penalties but also drew a lot and could chip in offensively

I was always big on Sakic and Yzerman, but I'm Canadian and that had more to do with the country then the NHL. I think my favorite non Pen of all time was actually Mike Bossy. Almost made me an Islander fan, I thank Lemieux for ensuring that never happened every day.

Mats Naslund was my favorite non-Penguin. Mike Modano a close second. I actually owned a Minnesota North Stars jersey at one point.
