Maybe. But only if the Flyers are willing to eat 50% of his contract. Otherwise, nice try.

The blog is more about Berube's ineptitude as a HC, than about VLC. And I am in agreement with that

If he said it, I would be very surprised if he actually did it. He hasn't made so much that he can walk away from the millions left on that contract.

Unless of course there is some skullduggery going on behind the scenes where he gets his money, somehow, anyway.

I'll believe it when I see it.

lolno. Vinny will retire to get out of that albatross.

Retire would be the worst thing possible for philly they would be on the hook for his contract still.

I just think Ek is doing a bit to many Flyer bloggs lately , he has practically half the nhl going to Philly for either Lecavalier or RJU.

I don't believe the Yak offer at all.....
Vinny will be bought out at years end w/Umberger & team will still have cap issues

Thanks again for Streit & Amac bc we all warned the flyer fans, unfortunately the GM didn't take notice.....

its an under 35 year old contract, so they would be free and clear.
Just because he plays like a 50 year old doesnt change the CBA

Put the poo back on your head!

It sounds like a lot to us, and it is a lot to him also.

However walking away from 13.5 million because he wasn't having fun anymore?!

That could change in an instant, especially if the Flyers eat half his salary and trade him.

... we'll find out I guess

I would bet they asked for Couturier or Schenn and Yakupov was the main, but not only piece going the other way.

The Oilers can't trade Yakupov beause right now his value has plummeted since his draft. The Oilers won't get enough back to make it worth their while. They need to hold on to him and hope he develops.
