Now he's centering adams and downie. God forbid but if someone gets hurt and downie gets bumped to top 6 we can just get Glass back and Sutter will be in his worst nightamare again centering adams and glass....

Totally off topic but I have to post this, I have been a plasma TV guy since I have started buying my own TVs. Yesterday I picked up a high end LED samsung UN55H7150 240htz and I calibrated it today just like I did with all of my plasma TVs. I still like the picture on my plasmas better, does anyone have the samsung I purchased? It looked amazing in the store, but now at home I'm not floored by the picture. Does anyone have any LED pointers or anything I could do to get the max experience out of my new TV?

What cables are you using. I have high end HDMI cable from my comcast box to my tv and it looks good. I also googled LED best picture settings and it gave me tips on what settings to use. I have a samsung 55 inch but the 6000 model

It's actually the one that came with my cable box, I have a 3 or 4 expensive monster cables but I never really thought they did much, I will try it though maybe your right

It won't do anything. A HDMI connection is either connected or not; there is no better connection. The promise of gold plated, poop stained, dipped in Jesus' blood, whatever etc is all bullpoop. It's not a coaxial cable. It's all on the TV and the setup.

I did a lot of research before I bought my new TV. For watching sports, plasma has no equal. It's the refresh rate. LED can't match it. Not a lot of brands out there still doing plasma, but Panasonic still makes a great TV.

Plasma is the best. Unless you're using your TV to show, like, sportscenter or CNN in a hotel lobby 24/7 I don't think you gotta worry much about burn.

They are. Especially for sports. However, I just read that Samsung is ending it's Plasma products. Panasonic ended last year I believe. Leaving only LG.....and I'm not a fan of their TV's.

RIP. I'm glad I got in under the wire I guess......although you can still get a good Samsung this year.

really won't get a big difference unless cable starts streaming in ultra definition. Movies (bluray) and games (new gen consoles) will be your biggest upgrade, but not so much casual TV watching. 4k TVs are like when HD TVs first started coming out, so much potential, but cable didn't support it so it was kind of pointless at first. BUT, it is expected that 4k and UHD will be coming soon to cable/satellite providers and I think Netflix is working on it too.

From what I understand, they are ending plasmas because you can not get 4k with a plasma. It'd be like if they still made those giant square non hdtvs

My best guess is Perron will be traded, Yak will be traded, and Petry will also find a new home. Just for kicks, would the Penguins rather have the proven player in Perron or the youthful talent of Yakupov?

Like you, I don't see enough of these two guys to make a good judgment. From what I've read I'd go with Perron. It sounds like to me Yak is still a risk while Perron is a known quantity. I think a team these days can't have enough of guys that go to the net and play with a physical edge. These last several years of watching the Pens being held to the perimeter in the playoffs has really changed my view on how this team should be constructed.

Can't disagree with that. I don't watch enough of Perron to determine if he plays that way. The few times I saw Edmonton play us Yak's speed always stood out to me. Also might be unusual but I saw him backchecking and actually playing physical against us. That was a 2 game sample so I don't get too excited about it.

I've heard on the oilers board that perron is that player who will battle on the boards and get to the net. All I really heard about yak is that he's been suffering playing with subpar linemates. (like sutter last year)

If the price was significantly more then I'd be happy to land Perron. It's funny we all sit here and talk about players we like and who could be available but I wonder who JR is really targeting and talking to teams about.

I have a feeling GMJR is going to make a major move at some point this season involving a core part or perhaps even two.

I think untouchables are 87, 71, and 72. I list 72 because he's the kind of player they need to acquire more of. No way they move him.

29 is unlikely because they have no better option + he just signed his new deal.

I think everyone else is on the table including 3. Would take a lot to move him but I wouldn't rule it out.
