Would anybody here trade Nick Spaling for Jussi Jokinen?
I would
At this point I view Spaling as a negative in the Neal/Hornqvist trade
I'd rather have the capspace, and Jokinen is an easy 1.8 million dollar upgrade in productivity and lineup flexibility
even just the fact he can take faceoffs for Malkin on the second line makes it a plus - RoloTahmasee
I'm not any fan of spaling by any means so far. And this may not too smart, but I want the pens to get younger. Nothing against Jokinen or what he did here, and he's certainly better then spaling...but id just trade for Jokinen Jr in Tlusty. Spaling will be fine eventually on the fourth line...overpaid..but fine. Lastly just don't want to trade any of our forwards right now |

Since he has come back I will throw this out again, I think Alex Tanguay would make for a nice target, only 1 more year at 3.5, solid two way top 6 winger |

The money and term would be a reason for us to stay away
The Panthers are all about handing the team over to their youth, Getting $$$ and term off their books helps them with that. Spaling might be what they'll look for since he fits the bill of what helps them
Younger, Cheaper, Less term on his deal,
From the Pens perspective, would you do it? - RoloTahmasee
I like Spaling and his responsible but symple game....but I'd trade him to Florida for a top 6...not necessarily Jokes. Fleischmann would be cool too. |

Really Chris? We become so much Worse without those two. |

zatkoff provides nearly as good backup work. d-depth makes martin expendable. 1st rounder is good for future or as a trade piece for another winger. |

sure... just throwing a trade out there that is realistic... and doesnt cost us a 1st, DP, or forward depth. too many people think we wont have to literally kidnap a gm's daughter and hold them randsom to get anything for scuds. rattie / emerson are question marks and would still cost a decent price. eberle would cost dp, 1st rounder, + with the bidding war that would ensue. I was just riding eklunds newest post for a hoot. |
