Bortuzzo Despres would be an ideal 3rd paring for any NHL team. It will never happen though. Good thing is Scuds isn't playing that terrible, he had a couple of nice breakout passes last night where he usually would have high off the glassed it. |

Ehrhoff was the only German. "Germans" is incorrect in the title. Griess was only a factor on the score sheet not in actuality. |

I am sorry but Bortuzzo is no more than a 7-8 Dman on any team in the NHL. To say he wold be an "ideal" anything else is laughable. Capable yes. But ideal no. |

Am I wrong to call a spade a spade? Did Griess play that much of a part of that W? I didn't see it. It's not like the pens played edmonton and draisatl coughed it up to Syd or Gino 6 times nor Griess made 5 key beauty saves. Was I watching a different game? |

I disagree. There are a lot of teams in the NHL with much worse 6th d man than Bortuzzo. |

Take off the home team colors and assess depth charts before you make such comments. Bertuzzo is/was listed as the team's 8/9th defensmen entering the year. Behind a couple of strong prospects like Harrington and Pouliot. 24 games does not make a 7-8-9 guy a 6 on many professional teams. Serviceable yes. But I think you are over valuing him. |

Did he steal the game.....obviously not. He did however make a handful of really good saves and is proving to be a nice asset. Looks smooth and confident. |

And all I was trying to say/prove is that it wasn't "Germans" that won that game. One had a integral point. But the other had no major impact. Did he save enough shots, yes. Did he win it, no. |

Please clarify something for me. When a goalies team scores more goals than the other team, which column does the marker go in, win or loss? I believe the correct answer is WIN , therefore making your point as dumb as it sounds. It was literally the goalie who won the game. |

bizarre...
32 saves in a game decided by one goal seems like a pretty major impact, maybe even more so than what was basically a late insurance goal at the time. |

And how many GOALS did that goalie score? Cause I don't think you WIN by scoring goals. You can win games from a team game keeping shots outside and from afar without traffic. Hell, someone as narrow-minded as you could win a couple that way. Did Griess do anything, ANYTHING, to say he won that game? I am not saying he is a bad G or even a bad #2, but he was not a KEY in that W as the title of this blog attempts to say considering he is the 2nd German on this team. |

Shall we call you Wreckage or Disco Dan? Bortuzzo has played well as a solid 5-6 d man... that's a fact! |
