I learned more by reading books than I ever did in school (mind you, I was - and still am to an extent - a voracious reader)

I don't even know what that means.

Just remember how many years it took Bertuzzi to hit his stride -7.

There is no way I would give up on Kassian, this is precisely the knee-jerk type of reaction which impedes franchises from improving. I don't care if he has to play on the 3 or 4 line for the next two years until WD figures out the best way to get him going. there's no way I would trade him.

Why is it always Bertuzzi that Kassian is compared to? Bertuzzi was a very large power forward... Kassian is not 6'4" 240 pounds... not close even.

Kassian is more comparable to Horvats size or Kesler even....

Im being patient with Kassian but come on...wait a couple of more years of him on the bottom six because Bertuzzi took longer to develop? Thats nonsense...

Face it people...Kassian is not Bertuzzi or Lucic. Not only does his size fall short, but he doesn't play anywhere near the physical level those players have. Its time to dismiss all that BS Gillis sold us on Kassian. He'll find his own role eventually... but we cant turn him into Bertuzzi... not going to happen.

They do not even share a single letter in their name. Bertuzzi was a special power forward, Kassian has potential but.....

Jays get Donaldson for Lawrie.
- Scooby_Doo

Great trade. Makes about 0 sense for Oakland. Donaldson is slated to earn under 5 mill so its not a bad contract. Beans has to be working on another deal

Bill Oreily is a crotchety delusional old man... I don't respect his views. Everyone here is free to think whatever they want... doesn't mean I'm not going to point out the flaw in their opinion. Everyone can do the same to me!

Did you see the nhl.com power rankings from earlier today? Canucks were 13th

No respect!

- kneughter

I don't see a flaw in his opinion at all. In fact, he is bang on and a little bit of critical thinking and you'd come to same conclusion.

In many ways, the world is better but in many ways it continues to deteriorate.

I found the comment about GMO's particularly humorous. Great, let's try and feed the poor with unnatural cancer causing food. It's abundant, so they should count their blessings right? Oh, and let's forget that Monsanto is the producer of said seed. The same corrupt corporate devil that will put a mom and pop farm out of business if their seed accidentally blows onto their farm by the wind.

The oceans cleaner? Holy (frank), I want what you're smoking.

Have we all forgotten about climate change, deforestation, the extinction of thousands of species annually? Ya, what a great world we live in.......if you're white and live in NA....

Still early but the team looks like it made it back to the top 10

I don't think he was ever out of the top 10. He was absolutely crazy good last season, just had a poop team

I don;t think I went to 1 game last year where I felt really excited to see the team play. I CANNOT wait to go to the NYR game Dec 13. Even if this team doesn't do much in the playoffs (Assuming they make it) they are at the very least, super exciting to watch
- kneughter

Vancouver is deep up front. Providing the goaltending holds up, me thinks Vancouver is a tough match up. Kings are the only team we can't beat

Dude... stop watching CNN and bill maher. The poor are NOT getting poorer, this is one of the biggest fallacies. Capitalism makes the world a much better place, it creates amazing technologies, medicine, and pretty much anything that makes your life easier and more convenient. Are you supporting those morons trying to stop the pipeline while taking photos with their iPhones?

The poor are living better lives today than the rich did 100 years ago. This is not a zero sum game... there is plenty of wealth to go around. We need people like Bill Gates, creating 10s of thousands of jobs while creating products that make everyone's lives better. People being misinformed since elementary school and all the way through college/university. And morons like Michael Moore spreading his idiocy throughout western culture using his documentaries.

Anyways... enough of that.. CANUCKS ARE #1!

- kneughter

I can never tell if you are serious

I suppose my point was more along the lines that humanity will always be oppressed by a few, be it monarchies, religions, ideologies business elites etc.

The people of sub-saharan Africa and central American etc would have a very different opinion...

This is true. I think what we see is what we get with Kass. I doubt he ever develops into a top 6 forward.

When he wants to play big , he is hard to get the puck off of. Those games don't come too often.he is an okay 3 Rd liner I guess. I do prefer a Dorsett type guy.

Mathias is coming around and using his size a lot more frequent these last 10 games. I would give him a serious look to re-sign.I don't find too many flaws in his game and is a good third liner with size and will fight.

Matthias - 26
Kassian - 23

I was (and still am) a fan of tanking for a great draft pick but if the canucks are going to try and stay competitive while retooling then I wouldn't move Kassian just yet. I would actually keep both. If you're going to make the playoffs you need big, strong, skilled guys.

Kassian is a headcase, but if WD can figure him out then he's worth keeping. Give WD a season with him...

- bloatedmosquito

My concern is that there's nothing inside that headcase.

Canucks have given up 1 goal in the last three games since Hamhuis has been gone. Who would have guessed he was the problem to us being scored on

Watching a replay of the game, Miller looks to be on his game.

There was a really good article about him and Schneider on NHL.com, talking about how important days off are to keep the game sharp.

I was just reading Dreger saying Franson would want north of 5 mil . I hope they re-sign him for 5.5 . If any team deserves to overpay a player it is TO
