I agree. Rather have Donovan play. - ses111
makes more sense to me, we already know what we have in strait and if donovan isnt going to be waived then we should be playing him so he at least gets some ice time. Strait should be an extreme emergency only.

Johnson in goal, strait in for boychuk - boychuk day to day with upper body injury, my guess is it's his upper back where he got shoved into the corner of the goal post and cross bar. - Isles_since_6
Oh boy. Hope we pull this one out. |

I thought donovan was better last game also. Like to only see strait only if we really really have too . Also hope johnson gives us a good one today
Ovechkin was quoted as saying the next game will be different and theyre tied with the rangers. Big game for them. |

I can't see the game, just the nhl.com ice tracker. Was it at least a good goal? I don't want to see it if it was another softie. |

Take your pick bailey or martin. Bailey with a point blank chance and brainless passes it to a capital. johnson |

I can't see the game, but 2 goals against on 5 shots seems about par for the course with Johnson in the last couple of games.
I do expect at some point he'll pull out of it, but thankfully we have Halak.
**edit - lol, just looked again and now we're tied 2-2. what in the hell. looks like I'm missing a crazy one.

Here's something negative....LOL...Johnson sucks. I'd much rather have Nabokov backing up Halak. |

I have no faith in Johnson. Another goal for Lee. Lee making a statement. He is not being taken out of this lineup. |

I didn't see the first goal but the second was a softie. Thank god we finished off strongly. |

his confidence must be shot, he's just looked lousy since the LA game. It would be nice if we could have played Buffalo and got him some confidence.

bailey makes more sense as I don't see playing Grabner on the fourth line.

The first one was a nice tip, but on the second one he was in a sh*t position, which is about the 8th time I've seen that this year. If you're going to be a positional goalie who doesn't move much, you can't leave a foot and a half from the short side post. |

Did we ever. Wow. Lee with his stick where it should be after cizikas couldnt make it happen. Good to see tavares get another one. Im happy these guys keep going when they have to be not to confident with who is in net. Hes got to get it together. Ovechkin no matter who is the coach is nothing but a selfish hanger. Idk how many times he was behind the play on our blue line sitting there. Hes one "elite" player. |

You know I usially protect the guy on here but he needs to sit. Since his injury we are seeing "that" bailey again. |

I didn't know too much about him before he got here, but I'm starting to get the feeling that the Isles will need about 4 or 5 goals to win when Johnson starts. |

I didn't know a whole hell of a lot about him but I was under the impression he was a dependable back up. Hopefully he can turn his game around. |

Dear Islander management,
You guys have done a phenomenal job this year and have made this season very pleasant to not only watch but, to be an all around isles fan. We can finally hold some ground in hockey conversations and not be laughed out of a room. HOWEVER, the one thing I would like this holiday season is for you to finally to see that Brian Strait has no other purpose, other than serving as the teams Christmas tree at ice works. I'm assuming he has naked pictures of someone in the office and that is the only reason he is still here. We promise as fans to look passed any humiliation that these said pictures would bring. We believe that he only gets so many minutes when in the lineup because he sneaks onto the ice when you are diligently planning the teams strategy. None of us in the isles community would tell a soul if Mr. Strait somehow vanished. I'm sure many would even chip in and buy an ad on the side of the milk carton and play along.
Thank you so much in advance and keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
A rejuvenated islander fan |

from what I've seen of him so far with us, aside from the LA game he's either overplaying the shooter on every play or he's cheating to one side. With his size, he shouldn't be having to do either. He's actually giving space to the shooters instead of staying square and letting it hit him, which is why I think his confidence is low. He needs Halak's goalie coach to work with him instead of Dunham. |

brian strait should be shoveling snow during tv timeouts. That should be the only time he's on the ice.
I'd rather see him doing that wearing a skirt than actually dressed for the Isles.
