Vey and Horvat get some breathing room. - Nucker101
At times it has seemed like Kassian has been given every opportunity and at other times he has proven himself but not been given any more rope. He looked like he was taking a step forward at the end of last season, but we haven't seen that same sort of play this season.
This is a great opportunity for Vey and Horvat, I just hope Kassian looks at the situation and feels compelled to work harder and smarter to keep improving.
Will we see Vey slot in on the third line or Hansen moved to the third? Guessing it will be Vey on the third line because they may not want Horvat and Vey on the same line.
Well.... I suppose I can turn my hate for everything Burkie off for ten minutes to hear his words. - Beatle_john
Entertaining enough. Sounds like Burke really looked up to him and owes him for being given an opportunity in Vancouver.
Burke would be a good replacement for Cherry. I don't mind listening to him in short clips for the most part. Not sure if I would really care to have a conversation with him. |

Anyone else think signing Franson in the off season is a great fit?
Edler, Tanev, Franson, Sbisa, KB3, Hamhuis wed have a nice mix of younger and old , puck movers and stay at homers - The_Kuze
I'd much rather have Boychuck as the UFA RHD that we sign next summer. Better shot and much much much better in his own end. Guy can throw them pretty good as well. I'm not a huge Franson fan personally. I like to watch the leafs play because who doesn't like watching them lose and Franson is pretty sketchy in his own end from what i've seen. For a big guy he doesn't have much of a presence either. |

Yeah, I have very little experience with big time fishing. I grew up in Halifax and we'd fish off the docks when the mackerel ran. We caught them with these lead jigs (on rod and reel). So simple but we caught hundreds. They had a good fight too.
But that ended as I got distracted (older) and the only time I've fished since are during holidays to warm places. Shame really. Fishing's a good time. - bloatedmosquito
This is funny,,, thanks for these memories. I lived in Sydney NS for a few years in my young childhood. My father use to take me down to Leonard's Wharf to fish for the Mackerel. We would catch a couple of buckets and go home... My father had bought me a cheap trout fly rod to catch the little Brookies in the creek behind my grand fathers farm. I would catch those mackerel with some white feathers tied to a hook with that rod sometimes. I really didnt fly fish after we moved from NS for another 20 years...now its an obsession.

Boychuck would be great but he is likely going to be one of the top UFA, and will command a lot of money. He also won't be coming here without one of the current top 4 leaving.
I doubt we see any huge upgrade on Dman unless Bieksa is moved, again something that I don't see happening. |

Boychuck is gonna get some big time offers if he becomes a UFA. |

I'm (frank)ing snowed in already this early winter. 2 feet almost in the driveway and growing...no internet, phone, satellite tv and at times power yesterday. A tree fell on my car(3 seasons after one destroyed my truck), the winch on my ATV isn't working so I cant use the plow. Car is stuck blocking my driveway so I cant get my truck out.

Benning's relationship with Boychuck may help lure him to the West Coast. He's a Western Canadian guy as well. I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility and the canucks will have the cap space.

I really like the makeup of that group. Maybe missing a true PP QB, but maybe we can find a forward to fill that role. |

We could bring back Ehrhoff for cheaper and have a PP QB again. I also don't think Sbisa is coming back here especially when his qualifying offer coming in at 2.9 million.

Fishing for mackerel is a perfect way to introduce kids to fishing. No patience needed. Never a dull moment.
Not a fan of the taste (and way too many bones) but it's a great fish for the BBQ. Nice and oily. Only way I'll eat it.

Sorry everyone. Last mackerel post.
Take a look at this video. Commercial fishing in Cape Breton (where Booner grew up). All they are doing is running baitless short-lines out (by hand) and immediately hauling them back in with fish on the lines. Three lines, 11,000 lbs of fish.
Mackerel, retards of the ocean.

I'd kill to have a portion of that here in Whistler, minus the car destroying car bit. That sounds like a brutal pain in the a$$. |

He might just stay put and re-sign with NYI. NYI have the cap space, the team seem to be up-and-comers (for real this time), and New York is New York. |
