Put up good numbers in the ECHL but could never replicate them in the AHL.

Had one good year in junior
but when you go from 19 points to 89 points something is up.

Also his penalty minutes suggest he was quite feisty

He and Grenier were "moneyball" picks for Gillis. Guys who broke out as overage players. Greiner looks like he'll at least be a solid AHL scorer, Mallet just sucks.

Gillis probably read the article floating around a few years ago about age bias in the draft.

I hated both picks. I felt like Gillis was just overplaying his moneyball strategy and also trying to find cheap bottom 6 players with those picks instead of shooting for upside and actually scouting the players.

I liked his 1st round picks(when they were made), and his last draft here though.

I know nothing about him either, judging by his stats he's definitely not afraid to fight and is a big dude. But damn, a guy who's been splitting time between the AHL/ECHL should come cheaper than a 3rd IMO.
