I love how the Ducks are making Kelser out to be a martyr here. Kelser had a reputation for sleeping with players wives, requested a trade and then gave one team he would waive too.

I doubt many of the ANA players, coaches and fans actually followed the whole Kesler story enough to know the situation. It's funny because they seem more vocal about this whole thing than the Canucks fans. We boo'd him, but other than that everyone seems to have moved on and is happy with the trade.

Can you imagine, " Okay kid, go ahead and find an apartment you are staying in the NHL.... oh and you're not dressing tonight"

Malkin on Fleury winning his 300th game

"I score every practice, ten goals. Every shootout, I score on him. How he wins 300, I don't know. It surprises me."

If we still had the same coach as last year, yes, I could absolutely imagine it.

Bruce Boudreau is a bit sour on Kelser's reception in Vancouver.

Anaheim Ducks ‏@AnaheimDucks 3m3 minutes ago
#NHLDucks BB on Hiller: "He backboned this team for a lot of years. I hope he gets a better reception than the one Kesler got in Vancouver."

- LeftCoaster

Boudreau should shut his yap. If anything, he just Mothered Kesler, and treating his player like an emotional baby, isn't going to strengthen them.

Any player that asks for s trade gets booed, when they go back to their old teams house. Kesler got it easy from the fans, and even though he asked for a trade, he was respected and cheers when they showed his mugg on the jumbotron.

I wonder if Kesler calls Bruce, when he's had a bad dream, and can't get back to sleep.

Still can't believe we drafted Mallet over Severson. I remember posting on draft day that I wanted Severson at that pick.

El Nino predicted

Meanwhile, West Coast residents should be expecting above average temperatures this winter according to CBC Meteorologist Johanna Wagstaffe.

"NOAA still predicting a 58 per cent chance of an El Nino this winter, which typically means warmer winters for the Pacific Northwest," says Wagstaffe.

"While La Ninas do have a correlation with higher snowfall, El Nino doesn't necessarily mean less snow, and it doesn't look like it will be a very strong one either."

Across the rest of Canada colder than average temperatures are forecast for the winter ahead.

"A laborious stride was expected to curtail his effectiveness at this level, but Horvat worked with power-skating instructors in the off-season to improve his efficiency, and works with Canucks skills coach Glenn Carnegie to better protect the puck. Improved edge work has allowed his defensive awareness to translate into offence.

“I feel a lot quicker and it’s 10 times better,” said Horvat. “Instead of taking 10 to 15 strides, they’ve got me taking six. It’s more efficient, more powerful and my first three steps are better. I’m definitely surprised a bit at what I’ve done, but you never know what to expect. You’re coming in here and you catch yourself by surprise sometimes with the plays you make and draws you win.”"

I want Bo to stay the whole year. Who else is WD gonna put in? IMO Vey and KAssian should rotate in and out of the lineup depending on the opposition. Kassian has been invisible the last 2 games against high end opponents. While Bo on the other hand has played way above expectations. Let's see if the kid can handle the grind of an NHL season. What have they got to lose? it's not like the team can get any worse than last year. WD won't let that happen.

Was up to near 85% chance of an El Nino year before summer. So many factors that go into this but a weak El Nino doesn't hold much clout.
