You for real? I've been reading the flyers thread the past few games and you guys dont have many hood things to say about coburn...
- rangerdanger94

He was injured for the first month of the season, and he just came back. How about instead of lurking for 2 weeks you pay attention to how Coburn's played the last 3 years? He's a reliable, mobile, big defender who is average.above average at moving the puck. Nothing more, nothing less.

Edit: There is also a large part of the fan base that never forgave him for not being a consistent 30/40-point defender that he was supposed to be, so there's that too.

Ya because you need to score 30 goals in the league before you're worth more than a second rounder??? What a stupid comment.
- Ihatebrianburke

Well you need to score more than 11 and so far 3 in 20 games in back to back years. Right now based in yaks current game, hes not worth more than a 3rd. The only thing that makes him worth a 2nd is his draft position but that is slowly becoming irrelevant.

Myers for their lottery pick straight up is maybe fair...but I dont think any team would trade more than a pair of 2nds for myers.
- rangerdanger94

You are so dumb. He is 6'8 and one of the best skating dman in the league. he is only 24 and playing almost 25 mins a game. On team with offensive weapons like Edmonton he would put up ton of points. With dman going for ton right now. He is worth your house and kids.

I agree. He is still young, and has potential. But he's quickly becoming the new Nikolai Zherdev.

Do you mean overall, or for his size? Because if it's overall...well, you must have that Tyler Myers' brand TV.

The only reason myers gets his hype is his size. If he were 6'0" he wouldnt get nearly as much credit based burely on his talent and ability. And yes, he plays 25 minutes a game and is the leader of the worst team in the league. That proves nothing. Plus his contract is terrible.

I wouldnt go that far. He is playing a bad team and the team has no leadership. Also it is hard for Russians to transition to north american game. He will be good player and consistently put up 25 goals a year.

Funny, that exact post could be applied to Zherdev his first 3 seasons.

The jump from 11 to 12 (his current pace) to 25 every single year is pretty dramatic and unrealistic.

Oh, then I'll give you that.

But still, he's definitely an attractive player to any team, but not as much as you'd think. He's the type of player who could help to push a good team to a contender, but not a backbone to build around.

I've lost count of the number of goals the sabres let up because he loses inside position or doesnt tie up a forwards stick. He's just not very good at the defensive part of the game.

Wow u are dumb. He has talent and size is huge bonus. Being on worst team just shows that his stats a down because his team has no offense. Also contract is not terrible with kane and toews getting over 10mil and salary going up he will be bargin in year or two.

He is only 24. it takes time for dman. I am not saying he will be chara but it is good example because he out played him when you compare them when they were same age. He is on very bad team and good be very good number one on a good team.

If Eberle gets moved they have to get an equal return, Eberle can't be the best player in the deal by a landslide. Better to get teams in a bidding war if they are going to move him, the season is already more or less a wash so lets not make a trade just to make a trade and use the most valuable trade chip to do it.
- oilstone

I doubt it. The Oilers are the team that really needs a shakeup. Expect to lose on paper in any deal made. The victory is in shaking up the dressing room and a positive culture change.

You're just living in a fantasy based on his rookie year. He's gotten worse every year and wont repeat that successful year.

Right...but much like Yakupov, that's a lot of "potential" you're trading for, and double with Myers when it's a player whose stats have declined every year since his Calder year. He COULD become a #1 elite player, but that's as likely as him becoming a #6 stay-at-home player. He realistically is a solid #2/great #3 defenseman. Not sure that's worth more than a pair of 2nd rounders and good prospect.

Edit: Really, outside of Buffalo, he's viewed as "a nice player." Nothing more.

Ebs has 4 goals in 20 games. Chill.
- rangerdanger94

AND the flyers defense gets weaker in the process. MDZ and amac would be your first pairing. They'd go from a top 6 to top 3 imo. Eberle isnt going to be able to compensate for the goal differential.
