and he competes, provides leadership and is good in the room

did I do it right?

Apparently he is not though.
Many Blue Jay insiders say he is seperate from the team...."on his own island"

AA said he made a contract offer to Melky and he's still a free agent.
He's gone, this ''journalist'' is full of it.

Melky had a preconceived notion about what he was worth on the market, which was obviously lower than what the Jays were offering, so AA told him to go hit the market to see what he is worth, and then they could re-visit the original offer. He's still unsigned, so him re-signing can't be ruled out.

I'm ok with them using Holzer right now.
Last time they called him up, they tried him on the top pairing, and he was overwhelmed. Not really his fault.

I think this is his last chance/year for us to see if he can be a good bottom pairing D.

I've never expected more from him than being a bottom pair D man and I am interested to see how he does on this callup

How did he die?
He played as expected.
He had one off year, that people expected him to do again......their foolish mistake.

He's a solid 3/4 starter and inning eater without a ridiculous contract like Buehrle. This is why he has trade value. The main problem with him is he requires a personal catcher that takes up a roster spot to play once every 5th day.

what was the move they should have made?
- senstroll

Tom Nilson or Peter Granberg, maybe even Viktor Loov. Anybody who hasn't got a chance yet. I don't know who's healthy with the Marlies recently but I think at least one of those three guys are good to go.
