Anaheim would be smart to go after dion.

they have a lot of cap space and dion would easily put them over the edge for one of the top contenders (as they are already one).

ANA has 5.6 mil

only thing is, they would have him for a lot longer than the year.

well if you look past the next 60 games.. they need to clear space for next year

Nonis has dug a hole so we cant worry about replacing lupul/bozak.. just making the room so you can pay your better players like Bernier, Kadri, Franson ..and if you want winnink and sant

- senstroll

I know what you are saying, two big contracts have to go to make room going forward.

im sure they could find a better way, unless they really want to get rid of Loops for giving Dions wife a rusty trombone

hmm Lupul practicing on 4th line today, Dion not even at practice...

I agree, you might be able to squeeze the pro rated contract of Dions for this year, then what?

I would take Vatanen (sp) and a pick/prospect. If you could get Fowler, take him but it ain't happening, we are stuck with him.
- LeafMan

i promise you ANA wont move Vatanen for anything, he is their D future.

Fowler becomes a bit more possible with Vatanen being so highly ranked by ANA.

If they think Dion wins them the cup they'll do it in a heartbeat.

If they think Dion wins them the cup they're delusional.

no idea - but ana was looking for a quality D man.

dion would be right up there in terms of who's available if anyone at that high level.

like him or not hes surely looked at as a guy that could come in and help

just the long contract may hurt - nonis.

dolt.

dion at 8 mil for 4 years would have been better.

I just did the capgeek roster for next season..assuming we pay Kadri and Bernier 4.5ish and who knows for Franson..who I think has been very good and wold be a shame to lose ..so get a decent return (not Gorges) or resign him for 4.5-5.5 ..leafs are over the cap already then if they dont move someone..and thats only 17 players

horrible cap engagement by Nonis and his fired friends

you are saving 1 mill and he only has 1 more year..so you save 2 seasons of 5.25 cap hit

tough decisions like this will have to be made... hopefully they throw in a pick or prospect

15 mil in space with 14 players signed, you can work with that.
