Boychuck and Thorton was a loss of two tough players . Chara out, LUcic is the lone BadBoy now. Even Marchand is quiet. Chara is getting long in the tooth. I don't see them coming out of the East.

His salary is not but he is only a season away from free agency and we have the space I think. On a team that isn't doing that great and a young core of defence eating up minutes. I do however agree with you that I hate the florida deals as well.

He is a decent scenario, I still would like to trade for a permanent fixture that is younger.

I said it on here before and got laughed at ...their GM has made great moves and turned a last place team into a first place ...for all the poop moves he has made over the years if your just looking at this year he has been one of the best GMs

If Canucks can trade Burrows for a second at TDL they would have about 18.5 in space next year with 13 players on the big team.

I would re-sign Dorsett Mathias and Richardson at close to current salary , offer Tanev about 4.2 for 5 years or more.

Target Franson at 2 mil and Foligno around 4.5

If it was a 5/6 Dman down for months I would embrace Salo. The season can slip by fast trying to replace you top guy with a maybe this guy will work. Our D is thin to begin with

Ya true enough. Half of me thinks that we need Salo's right hand shot and PP creativity so bad and the other half says a guy like Myers really is the way to go. Bottom line is I guess we needed a top 4 D when Hammer was healthy and now we need it more than ever. Lack and/or Markstrom + Hansen + Gaunce + 2nd rounder might get it done but Buffalo is gonna want Jensen/Virtanen/ Horvat or Shink and I'm not sure we can part with any of those guys IMO. Gonna be a tough deal to get done even if Benning is looking at Myers at all...which he should be.

If JB is able to somehow snag a top 4 D that still leaves us with only Higgins (who I like) and Burrows on the 2nd line with Bonino. yipes...

Really think Franson would be good here too.

Canucks aren't good enough to be in a position to trade good prospects or high picks for a legit top 4 d-man. Gonna have to try to buy-low and/or just find another bottom pairing d-man if they want a bandaid option.
