Vigneault didn't believe in playing 4th lines, so it was quite nice to get Dorsett the way we did.

Willie gets it, you have to play 4 lines

In fairness to AV/Torts... would you have trusted our 4th lines before this year to play that many minutes and contribute (beyond stupid penalties/goals against). I agree, Dorsett on the 4th line along with Horvat and Hansen makes it both defensively stable and capable of chipping in offensively. Who did we have for 4th liners during the AV era? Ebbett? Oreskovich? Weise? Sesitto? Other spare parts that aren't on the team any more?

I honestly wouldn't even call the 4th line our 4th line, I think at this point it's our third and that Kassian/Richardson/Mattias is the 4th... and IMHO Kassian's due to either be traded/waived/bought out and Jensen brought up to take his place (and to replace Vey on the 2nd line, sliding him down to Kassian's spot).

As sad as it is, the Hodgson/Kassian trade is going to go down in history as a loss for both teams. Hodgson is floundering on one of the worst teams in the league playing on the fourth line and Kassian isn't doing any better here.

The best player in that deal may have been that d-man forget his name but he's still playing in the nhl somewhere.

Which? M-A Gragnani? Or Sulzer? Both were waived... I believe Gragnani's playing overseas and Sulzer is playing in the AHL last I recall.

Zach Kassian is said to be in the Vancouver area but no one can prove that.

They're both only 23/24.

They both should be showing signs of their potential by now. They've both regressed since they've entered the league, that's not a good sign.

Overall, Kassian can can still hit and intimidate. Hodgeson can't do that. I would rather give up with 10 or so goals I think that Hodgeson will likely get over Kassian per season but I think the intangibles or strength and intimidation will equate to more years each year.

EDIT ------ HOLY SMOKES --- Hodgeson has 1 goal in 21 games?????????? Screw that Kassian has double that!

Win Vancouver.

lols, hodgson has 2 points on the year and is a fourth line winger.... Kassian contributes solid minutes on the 3rd line and will only get better when he plays with a guy with skills the way Bert did with Naslund... give him a year maybe two and a really skill player...

Maybe buffalo will waive Hodgson and the Nux will pick him up and put him in the AHL to learn the game in Utica?

We'd win the trade by default

It looks like a disaster season for Hodgson no doubt. On the other hand, it was only last season that he had 20g and 24a. Kassian still hasnt broken out offensively...

I dont think any player performs anywhere near their potential in Buffalo. If Kassian were there, he would be buried on the 4rth or worse by now as well... I say Kassian should be pretty happy he isnt in that hell right now.

That's true - look at Erhoff in Pittsburgh.

That being said, I haven't seen much development in Kassian's play to make me optimistic about his future.

Well said.

Now that Hansen has a Hatty under his belt do we have to stop calling him Hands of stone Hansen.

Should we all start making bets whether or not Bo stays or goes back to Junior.
