At 24 Myers would be serviceable for more than likely 10 years. I would chance losing a first rounder a goalie and one prospect that may make the team - VANTEL
Indeed, if that's a realistic possibility i'd definitely take it but then again we are talking about Buffalo here, when was the last time they didn't come out on top in a trade scenario?

I do care because you just can't have one player scoring goals in your top 6. That will catch up to you. - VANTEL
We're the 6th highest scoring team in the league because we're rolling four lines, that's why it's more important to get bottom six scoring. Their scoring is pretty even. Here's the Canucks top six vs Pittsburgh...2nd in league scoring. Our bottom six is obviously outscoring their's.

Wonder if Pittsburgh would be open to move pouliot to bolster their top 6.
I think Burrows would be a good fit in Pitt. Play's a solid two way game and can finish pretty well if played with the right players. Pitt has cap space now that dupuis is out for the year. I think the canucks would have to add to get pouliot, but i'd love to see a deal like that.... but who wouldn't :p - Mungo
I said this earlier but I think Pittsburgh is a likely candidate to pick up a Dman. I'm not sure Pouliot would be available and he also isn't ready to play now, I would be going after Harrington or Dumoulin. I also think there is no way Pit can afford to take Burrows on unless it is Scuderi or Martin coming back which doesn't appeal to me at all.
If Sekara is available, he would be nice but if he was available I imagine some other team would of picked him up by now.

Sorry to hear about Hamhuis. We have a bevy of young NHL ready defenseman. Got any top 6 forwards waiting in the wings? |

I doubt Martin is being traded, he's playing to well, and frankly they need him. And you are right, they can't take Burrows unless Scuderi goes the other way. |

Fixed.
Between Horvat, Cassels and McCann i believe Gaunce becomes expendable. He is having a decent start to his pro career, move him while the iron's hot.
Lack, Gaunce, Jensen + 1st and second for Myers might do it?
Is he worth mortgaging the future for as they would definitely ask for a Bo or Virtanen - Whiskey-Tango
Not here to say whether he's worth it or not but I have to imagine that if the ask is nichushkin from dallas or mantha from detroit that Murray would probably want Virtanen in a deal.
However, I think some combination of a 1st rounder and a pretty good prospect (preferably at wing) could peak his interest. It's tough to say because while we know he thinks he's good, nobody's really sure if Murray has him in his future plans. |

In terms of trading for a Dman, don't think we have the assets to trade for anyone established, but I might take Elliotte Freedman's suggestion and go after Pouliout from Pittsburg. A prospect for prospect trade wouldn't be out of the question... |

If Vrbata goes down to long term injury , we are screwed. Don't get me wrong Daniel is having a good year but we need another top scorer. |

If Pitt is willing to deal Pouliot I hope Benning makes an offer. He's a good nice combo of skill, speed and grit. |

He's had decent PIMs and isn't afraid to throw a hit, so I figure he does have some grit unless he just loves to take hooking/holding penalties.
I'd look to flip a forward like Gaunce for a promising young d-man if possible. Not suggesting Gaunce for Pouliot straight up though, Pitt would obviously decline. |
