Kane deal, MAYBE
Benn deal, not a chance
Draft day deal... You'd be crazy to pass it up, crazy to accept it - znagle
These deals were completely sarcasm. I just wanted to be part of the "making bat poop crazy trades" club |

I think you have a better chance of netting a legitimate top 6 forward by trading a younger NHL ready defenseman for a younger NHL forward in return. Teams know Martin will be a UFA and won't want to give up as much for him. - Emperor Filonius
It's also about partners. Contending teams wanting Martin aren't going to weaken their already successful roster by giving us a top six forward. They'd be more interested in giving up prospects or picks, but then there's no reason to give up Martin for prospects and picks because it doesn't make the team better. |

Jagr would be perfect cost 3.500,000 give new jersey dumlion and a 2nd trade Martin to min for niño 2nd line jagr Malkin niño that line would scare me and plus having to shutdown Kuntiz Crosby hornquist yikes. - Palmer117

I was going to say his trades are starting to become a little more realistic..... |

There are better options. Megna is better than Adams. Age and 1 way contracts play a big part in that.
Plus, while we do have better options, they aren't ready for the NHL yet, thats the unfortunate part. Ideally we fill the top 6 holes and bump Sill off the roster and Adams to the press box. - YouMeAndDupuis9

He's becoming quite the mystery. One night last week I thought he'd drank himself nearly to death...so college age. Then some of them are sooo bad I think he's around ten and borrowed a parents phone. Todays at least has a general proximity to realism. |

And that streak isn't going to get stopped because he's a healthy scratch, whether people like it or not.
HCMJ loves Adams. And why not? He does what he's supposed to do.
Like I said weeks ago, Craig Adams is doing a great job of being Craig Adams so far this season.

The past 5 years have nothing to do with this year. Adams used to be decent and Megna wasn't even in the system. |

Which is what exactly? Slowly skates around the ice, doesn't hit anyone, doesn't score, doesnt excel on the PK? |

His name gets tossed around here almost daily, but I still don't know why Minnesota would want to trade away Niederreiter when they traded for him a year ago, and then signed him to a 3 year deal.
Add to that he's their leading scorer with an insanely low cap hit for 2 more years. |

Because Paul Martin is very, very good!
But yea he may have passed that point now as he's really proving himself. Clutterbuck for Martin would be a great trade and they traded Clutterbuck for Nino. |

Two different coaching staffs, a host of NHL talking heads, the players on the team, and the Penguins' year to year PK stats all say otherwise. |

He HAS to be on the PK because he does nothing else.
What are the players on the team going to say? Publicly tell the media "yea hes not very good" ?
And when I watch Dupuis, Sutter, Goc, and others skating around, getting their sticks in the way, clearing the puck, blocking shots, and getting shorthanded chances...they all look way better than Adams. |

Seriously all I can say is watch the games and stop listening to this blogger. Adams was the reason for the Pens bad PK, I guess he has nothing to do with it when its doing good. |

Just trust that a lot of people way more qualified than you, me and especially fancy stat himself at assessing NHL players think Adams is doing quite alright right now. If we waived Adams he would be picked up, Megna is going to clear waivers his entire career. |

Very intelligent counterpoint. Thanks for that valuable input.
Not that this matters or I should have to defend myself but I have watched every single Penguins game from start to finish for about 7 years now. |

No, I'm going to use to use my own two eyes and my own opinion. Age, contract, politics all play factors in who gets ice time. Doesn't mean it's right or that I should agree to it.
To add to that - Ray Shero is way smarter than me as well but it doesnt mean I agree Doug Murray was worth two 2nd round picks. If we all agreed with everything coaches and GMs do, there would be no "buzz" in HockeyBuzz. |

Yeah your right Mario sat down Bylsma, and Johnston and told them Adams plays no matter what. Its actually team policy to play over 30 yr old 4th line PKers who make 900 k a year 300 games straight. It was in his contract that as long as he can get out of bed in the morning he plays over anyone. Has nothing to do with being good at his job or anything. |
