Anyone listen to madden today with stan savaren (sp). Stan said he wouldn't deal PM bc we will need him during playoffs. He would move Burtuzzo samuelsson harrington etc for a winger. It was interesting he was all fired up today.

He talked about how we fans want cup runs but we have to get that 2nd cup first and we haven't gotten close. Pens need to get younger. He doesn't think a vet rental will do this team any justice. And if they need to the pens need to move a young d not named maatta pouliot and even despres.

I didn't listen to that radio segment but I'd have to say, I agree with the youth idea. I'm not interested in a short term solution here. Hopefully Duper can be back next season but you have to be prepared for anything.

I've said it many times now but we need to move a combination of guys like Dumo, Samuelsson, Scuderi, Spaling, draft picks for a good young winger.

Prepare yourself for a huge list but here is who I would be looking at (with preferences/realistic in bold):

Jurco, Rattie, Yakupov, Perron, Connolly, Nino, M. Foligno, Forsberg, Boedker, Kuznetsov, Kane, ROR, Tatar, Palmeiri

Then guys like Morin, Mcginn, Buff, Bickell, etc as secondary/depth/specific need options

Nick Foligno, Jiri Tlusty, Jaromir Jagr, Justin Williams...all will be UFA and could be good choices to substitute Pascal.

Jagr is a cyborg/legendary player so don't come with the age excuse here.

Jagr has been great this season. I would pick him up in a heart beat.

Why would a division contending team (NJ) trade a veteran scoring winger...to a division rival???

So, did everyone hear that Jack Johnson's parents bankrupted him? He gave them power of attorney over his estate and they put him 15mill in debt

RW needs to own up to his evaluation of MAF and the only suggestion he brought to the table was Reimer. MAF and when we got Scuds he was pretty wrong about. Everything else, he is a solid accurate blogger.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, which works out very nicely for me because im wrong a hell of a lot; most recently Sutturd, and as long as he keeps playing the way he is I have no problem admitting that.

The MAF bashing specifically bothers me because, he was very obviously a victim of circumstance. Over playing shots and misplaying the puck, 2 glaringly obvious things that are a direct result of trying to do too much because he was getting little to no help. Flower is a very polarizing player and I honestly believe that it has nothing to do with his play. I don't care what kind of crap I get for saying this, but the people that don't like MAF, have made that decision because he is the most obvious person to blame for an underachieving hockey club. If anyone's stats should mean nothing its a goalies.

Here in Pittsburgh fans have some very easy "go to" scape goats, Baseball "management sucks, sell um to Cuban", Football " Quarterback sucks put in the back up", Hockey " Goalie sucks, start the back up". It has sadly been this way for a long time.

Watch the game, watch Flower's skill set, his athleticism and reflexes are unmatched. He will prove it this year, like he has in the past; under a real hockey coach; that employs a real system, that supports his net minder.

Right on Bartsy.

Th thing with Flower is that he made some personal/technical mistakes in a couple past playoffs that had nothing or very little to do with the defensive scheme. I'm talking about the behind the goal goal putting the puck in his own net. That's the only problem I had with him but I think he's been much much better since last year. He's been great!
