Anyone who thinks Lindros was anything less than one of the greatest to ever play the game the first half of his career is just ignorant of facts.

Whether you "like" him or not is irrelevant, plenty of bumholes in the leagues' history...he was a generational player.

In my mind Bure in = Lindros in

He was a unique human specimen at 16, but I still would rather have Forsberg.

He isn't even in the top 50 greatest of all time. I think he is just on the cusp.

But greatest to ever play the game to me means in the top 30 which he isn't.

The point is that while he was dominant, it was for a short period of time and he never won a Cup. That's points against him, he also never won an Art Ross or a Hart Trophy to the best of my knowledge. Plenty of players of his generation were much better and more deserving, see Fedorov, Forsberg, Scott Niedemeyer, etc. all of whom won Cups and other hardware.

Yzerman dominated for a 6 year stretch. 6 straight years of 100+ points

Yes he is. His numbers say he is, unless you're talking about some suggestive stupid TSN top 50 list?

Short period of time? He was dominant his first 7 years in the league, he only played 12 years. Outside of injury he was one of the best.

Ray Ferraro said it today, "I played 20 years and I can only name on one hand the number of players that were more dominant than Lindros, we game planned solely around him and it only worked 20% of the time." End quote

Neely never won a Cup, Bure never won a Cup, fact remains he was an absolute game changer. He did win the Hart Trophy BTW.

What number's? They are good don't get me wrong

Never broke the 50 goal
Only broke 100 points once.

Hell Danny Heatley had 100+ points and 50+ goals in back to back seasons.

Bertuzzi wasn't dominant for seven years, he didn't make a Cup final, he didn't win a Hart Trophy and he wasn't;

4th fastest player in NHL history to score 300 points (210 GP) behind Wayne Gretzky (159), Mario Lemieux (186) & Peter Stastny (186)
4th fastest player in NHL history to score 400 points (277 GP) behind Wayne Gretzky (197), Mario Lemieux (240) & Peter Stastny (247)
5th fastest player in NHL history to score 500 points (352 GP) behind Wayne Gretzky (234), Mario Lemieux (287) & Peter Stastny (322) & Mike Bossy (349)
6th fastest player in NHL history to score 600 points (429 GP) behind Wayne Gretzky (273), Mario Lemieux (323) , Peter Stastny (394), Mike Bossy (400) & Jari Kurri (419)

6th fastest player in the history of the game to 600 points, 429 games. One of the highest PPG numbers in the history of the game. His last couple of years drug it down or he'd be top five in the history of the game.

I remember debating with my uncle on Forsberg VS Lindros when I was younger I was a really into Lindros at the draft and he was into Peter. Over the years the debate dwindled in the end it was no comparison. The conversations/debate ended with "I will tell you something Bubba when the phone from the hall rings it will be Forsberg answering."

Lindros was a good hockey player, real good but he wasn't great. Forsberg was great in fact I would go as far to say he was one the best if not the best of his generation.

Now will princess get into the hall? Maybe. Probably.

you're out to lunch and have no idea what you're talking about, they were both great players but if Lindros didn't have his off-ice issues he'd already be in. It has nothing to do with his play

Yo Bezz

I sent over a trade proposal. I think its one of the most even trades this league will ever see.

Much like Forsberg, who I think was an awesome player, Lindros has numbers that dictate he was just a phenomenal player. I'm just arguing the numbers, I'm not his biggest fan or anything, I just call bullpoop when I see it. If you don't like the guy fair enough, whether he was great or not is not debatable, HHOF worthy is a different story I guess but he was one of the best players ever the first part of his career.

They should find him a way to get in for sure, just not sold on it being a great player?

The guy score probably one of the most famous goals in hockey history.

Actually I was a pretty big Lindros fan and he is a great player. I loved watching Phili back then. They are comparable players but I will maintain that I think Peter was better.

It sure is easy getting everyone hoppin.

For the record Lindros will be in the hall. Probably next year.

I think you're right, but I don't see it happening next year. Seems to be a lot of politics involved with this situation. But there's no doubt that he should be in the hall.

Either bi-polar Tuesday has ingrained itself completely into the minds of folks here or it has quietly been forgotten

I think he'll get in soon too, comparing the two is like like comparing a Ferrari F60 and a Bugatti Veyron - I'd be happy with either.

Regular season

Forsberg 10th all-time 1.250
Lindros 19th all-time 1.138

Playoffs

Forsberg 11th all-time 1.133
Lindros 18th all-time 1.08
