Yes I know but it's just semantics with his off-ice BS, as a player, he was one of the best ever.

I personally think how a player carries himself should play a role in it.

To me, getting into the Hall involves a player that has either changed the way the game is played (as in Orr, Gretzky) or a player that has put up great numbers while DOMINATING the game during his era (even if it was for a shorter duration)

To that end, I think we can all agree that Lindros was a dominant force out there, a huge beast that was also a great skater and with soft hands. He would basically run you over if he couldn't finesse his way around. One of the most productive and feared lines in the NHL was the Legion of Doom. Lindros, whatever you may think of him on a personal level, easily deserves to be in the Hall. In fact I don't see any legitimate counter argument.

I don't know, I would say Scott Stevens was a more dominant force.

Then they'd have to remove a lot of players currently in, those guys, as most highend athletes in a physical sport, carry themselves with a bit of an arrogance. You have to to be successful IMO.

I like this argument. Hard to say Stevens was a great/clean hitter and Torres isn't. If Stevens played in the past 5 yrs he would be banned for life

Arrogence is one thing. Having zero respect for how the league was built is another

He was 18 years old and listening to his mother, this is well documented that his mother didn't want him to play there. He was 18 years old!!!

Stevens was a great player but much like Pronger, he was dirty.

Little did Lindros know that when they fought early in Lindros's career he should have kicked Stevens ass much worse than he actually did.

Well, I would certainly make a similar case with Stevens (has he not yet been inducted, though?). And you can't really compare the two - given each had different roles and played different positions. That said, I would love to have Stevens and Lindros on the same team!

Cool article on TSN about this kid Austin Matthews.

He is 2 days too young to be in this draft but if he was, most people would put him in front of Jack Eichel as the clear number 2.

YIKES..........

I think he was referring to Stevens headshots on Lindros?

Yeah you can't compare the 2, except one has 2 Stanley Cup Rings and the other just hears ringing.

Henrik will make it ,they will leave Daniel out just to piss off Lefty
- VANTEL

I think if Henrik gets in then Daniel will as well - as was noted, they are basically a package and the success each has had pretty much depended on the others. Even just for the 'novelty' of having twins who play/played at such a high level should earn them some additional points in terms of getting in

Anyone who thinks Lindros was anything less than one of the greatest to ever play the game the first half of his career is just ignorant of facts.

Whether you "like" him or not is irrelevant, plenty of bumholes in the leagues' history...he was a generational player.
