I love the truth that Yandle is a much better defenseman in every single aspect (including looks) than Gardiner?

Yandle plays in Phoenix. He's got it easy. No criticism and people who never see him play will stand in line to worship him.

We need a first line centre....not another Hab sized winger from Europe. The blue sweaters will soon be designated as the official smurf team of the NHL, if we keep going in that direction.
- PrinceLH

maybe educate yourself before making posts like this. Look around the league and in the history of the league. There have been a lot of first line centres from Europe.
The last true 1C Toronto had was Mats Sundin.
One of the best centres in the league for controlling the puck is Datsyuk.
The Sedins are pretty good.
What about Backstrom?
Ever hear of a guy named Malkin?

he's also a far better d-man

for instance, when he was 24 he put up 59 points playing in a trap-esque system

gardiner is nowhere nears as good as yandle.. rielly is someone who could turn into a yandle, gardiner.... meh, that would be a stretch

Ignore him.

Canada's a pretty awesome place, and most people I've met since moving here have been phenomenal... but there are still a few who a just a few cheese curds short of a poutine...

He was good, im not denying that! great shot from the point (1timer from kaberle) - had the can opener and could lay a decent hit - by the end seemed totally uninterested in playing Leaf hockey...

Leafs mgt should look at Gardiner and consider him for forward...as a ctr he lacks size, but his speed and his passing ability, along with his defensive skill (for a forward), may make him a great convert up front...he used to be a winger in Junior no?
