thats why he is on waivers, cause he's better than Reimer. oh, and you're drunk
- the_eye

I think more like trade Reimes pick up a pick or prospect or both and sign Harding for back up

A line of Kane kadri and clarkson. ..i like that. .but I agree it will cost more like lupol Gardner and Levio or Biggs
- Daddichronic

If Lupul stayed healthy and kept up a good pace his value would have gone a lot further in that proposition. Although that begs the question why trade for a 2nd line winger if Lupul wasnt made of glass.

*sigh* honestly, have you actually watched Harding? I know he is in the Western Conference and that is hard to see him. He has a medical history wit MS and is coming off a broken foot --- that is the back story, but is he far more consistent than Reimer. Hard to say better as the Wild have a few Studs on D.

Rumour has it that Harding broke his foot in an altercation with a teammate just prior to training camp.

But it may all be for not... looks like the Devils are going to take him. (According to Yahoo sports)

Josh Harding on Waivers from the Wild. Free UPgrade on the backup available. Go Nonis...
- Beatle_john

How is he better than Reimer?.

And not to be a jerk, but Harding has serious health issues that makes you wonder how long he can play.

You mean the Reimer who has a career 914 save % on the freaking Leafs?

That's not a rumour, it was confirmed and he was suspended from the team.

Harding (Last Season)

29 Games, 18 Wins, 7 losses, .933 S%, 1.65 GGA + 4 playoff games

Reimer (Last Season)

36 Games, 12 Wins, 16 losses, 911 S%, 3.29 GGA + 0 playoff games

***************************
Reimer 2.3 Million, UFA in 2 years
Harding 1.9 Million, UFA after 1 more year

Harding was the #1 last year on a playoff team and until getting injured in pre-season was the guy to beat.

Apparently this really had an impact on the Coach's relationship with him and there was little change of them moving forward together. (Again, Yahoo Sports)

And that was Reimer's worst season of his career. Harding is on waivers, Reimer is healthy and having a very good season. Enough said.

He played on a better team and his numbers are comparable to Reimers, I believe Reimers are actually better. I ve seen Harding play and he's good but I wouldnt say an upgrade.

Given how he is outshot every night for his entire career, I don't think people realize Reimer's numbers are very good.

I am not so sure you want to compare career numbers then. What's up with the "enough said". You want to ignore possible opportunities, that's fine but look at career stats then and see if "enough said" was enough.

But why does that not transcend to an improved save percentage?

If Reimer was on waivers, that would be used against him. Harding is on waivers and it's just no big deal.

Why is Harding better exactly? He plays on a better team and his overall numbers haven't been better. He's also older and has serious health issues.

James Reimer is a very solid NHl goalie. To have him as a backup is terrific. There's no need for an upgrade.

Bingo -- he has better D and Minny has been known for years as a D-first team. So a head to head comparison is really a hard one to comprehend --- I will totally give you that.

Reimer --- I like him. My thoughts were seeing a viable 1 available for nothing. Sheesh at less than 2 million, get him Harding in the Farm System.

I feel though that the entire thing is moot and Harding will be claimed.
