I like Phillips, I just don't like is game. You should too if you want to see this team prosper. He's holding them down, you can see it on his face every time he makes a very bad play.

I know, I just like bugging you ....

Phillips' role should be as a 6,7 d-man on this team, mentoring the young guys and keeping them level-headed..... but thanks to Methot being injured and Murray's preference to allow the young guys to grow into their prospective roles, he has had to play bigger minutes.

as for the expressions after a mis-play .... I see that more as a positive - he gives a damn, rather than just accept his mistakes along the lines of 'well I did the best I could, so f it.'

Would be nice to have Richards but the guy I would want is Evander Kane, I would be willing to give Zibby and Methot. I don't see Zibby having the work ethics to get that much better at hockey, the guy doesn't even know what the inside of the gym looks like in the summer. He relies too much on his natural ability and that's just not enough to improve in today's NHL.

Sens fans are all trying to get rid of Zibby this year because of his bad start and acting like no other teams see him struggling. I can't see Winnipeg trading Kane for that package as there would be way better packages then a struggling young center and a soon to be UFA dman. His value is probably lower then ever before, would be stupid to trade him now. See if he can rebound, his skill didn't disappear over the summer.

Not trying to get rid of. You must give goods to get goods in return. Zibanejad is still an elite prospect, and has a lot of upside much like Kadri. Just needs some time.

I don't know if he's an elite prospect. I think he's a good prospect though, and when I actually think about it maybe it's not a bad deal. Evander Kane has never done nothing to excite me, personally and I think he's a little overrated. Could use a change of scenery.

probably for the same reason that every trade proposal a leaf fan puts forward involves gardiner or kadri.......despite the fact that they've struggled mightly to begin the season.

the value is still there, despite the slow start. his trade value won't have diminished based on a small handful of games..........GMs are smarter than that.

and thank god the fans aren't the GM...... BM and his staff decided that they were going to allow the young core the opportunity to grow into their potential - in the roles that they hope they will develop into. Now we fans must excercise patience.

The other choice (which was my preference) was to keep some vets (Spezza/Hemsky) on the top 2 lines for a year or two and allow the young guns to develop on the 3rd and 4th lines, or in the AHL. (I realize that once the youth developed a shuffling of lines/bodies would have been required)

Two good options, but BM chose his, so we fans must endure a season of peaks and valleys as the young guys develop (ie Cowan's first couple weeks versus the past couple of weeks).

i agree that the best and most likely course of action is likely to keep him and let him develop further......that being said, if there is the potential that zibby plus anohter asset can get you a player like Kane or RoR, then it atleast needs to be considered.
