Ok maybe this was discussed prior but......why the heck don't you guys just fire the goalie coach. You had several goalies in the past couple of years......All of them started great but now they s*ck.

It's obviously not the goalies at that point. Just hire a new goalie coach and everything should be getting better

ottawa already has too many 2nd-3rd pairing d-men, adding 2 more would just increase the log jam we already have.

sens need a top six winger.......i wouldn't be surprised if methot is moved, but i would be shocked if they moved him for anything other than that.

- sensarmy_11

I'll give you a 3rd round pick for Methot than, it should help with your salary cap

Would Ceci be coming our way?

Not enough kleenex in the world for Oilers fans were that trade to happen.

Pouliot is making an impact for us. The 'wagon line' is making a VERY big impact for our club as well.
- ChetManly

Perron has been great .

I mean really Purcell is the only one that hasnt made a huge impact, but he has had a good 2way game this season.

That's been the thought process for a while now. I know I mentioned it last year when Dubnyk started poopting himself.

Problem is, who would be available as a goalie coach?

I hope MacT is trying to figure that out.

Partially agree. Right now Anderson is a better goalie than Reimer. The truth is that their career stats are virtually identical and Reimer is 7 years younger. I hope you aren't going to say that Reimer has had the advantage of playing on better defensive teams LOL!

Methot is probably better than Gardiner although that highly depends on which Gardiner shows up every night. If it is the "good" Gardiner, then Methot is not even close. Again, you also have age differences. No way in hell I trade Gardiner for Methot (considering where the Leafs are right now).

If the Leafs were a goalie or solid D man away from really contending, I would trade Reimer for Anderson and Gardiner for Methot. As it stands right now, I would not do either trade. It would be foolish.

The more I think about it, I don't like the idea of Edmonton giving up a big piece of their young core for a veteran.

Get your veterans for free in the off-season.

you could actually make an argument ........anderson played on some REALLY bad florida and chicago teams.

Methot is better than Gardiner regardless of the night. IMO

He knows where his own end is.

Yes, Jultz for Phaneuf. It lets the fans get rid of the guy they don't want and lets Jultz and Gardiner play together like they are supposed to

Phaneuf for a forward, would really help the Oil and wreck the Leafs

Ok, Lander + Pitlick + Horak's rights for Phaneuf, you just have to promise to take Jultz.

Both have potential to be #1, but they also have their downfalls that categorize them as solid back ups.
- ChetManly

I don't think so, just my opinion. Reimer is a bit of a head case/jesus freak, when he falls apart, he really falls apart.

when it goes bad "Jesus will make things better"
when it goes good "Jesus did it all"

But good for him for being so dedicated to it. Religion is not my cup of tea.

Reimer and Scrivens are pretty much the same quality of player.

when hall returns; Trade Hall for Tyler Segin!!! We need a better centre on the 2nd line

pouliot, nuge, ebs
hall, arco, Purcell
perron, draisaitl, yaks

3 lines that can really hurt you.

I really think that hall is the one guy that can probably still excel with the lesser linemates. and i really like perron for yaks right now.

still need that center for ld. a solid proven nhl'er gives us a forward group that's comparable with many of the stronger teams in the game.

our defence and tending on the other hand...

Reimer has the comfort of having Bernier and a better D-corps in front of him.

I believe Scrivens may try to do too much and the Edmonton D-zone presence can still be a miss-mash of hectic.

Stay the course, we'll keep Phaneuf.

Good luck at the draft
