The kid looks quite talented. Hopefully the coaches are also giving the kid guidance and the proper fundamentals as well. I also hope the parents are ensuring he's having fun but also being brought up without any sort of special 'superstar' status (I can just see the parents thinking they've got the next Gretzky on their hands - hopefully that's not the case, but parents can often be a kid's worst enemy, in terms of the pressure they put on their son or daughter

Carter Ashton gone 20 games for using an inhaler and guys who drill people in the head get 3 to 5 games on average. How on earth does the nhl not just just head hits to 20 and get it out of the freaking game. On a side note making real Italian pasta and Roman sauce for dinner

WOW! most kids with that kind of talent are complete puck hogs, someone like that is loved by his teammates.

I had to chuckle at the between-the-legs pass on a 2-on-0...
Good to see that the kid isn't above passing the puck. Maybe hear his name at the CHL import draft in a couple years? Hope he grows to a decent size, given that he is Asian...

Yea, gotta think that he is just having a blast out there, and when you are that much above everyone else's talent level in a country that isn't all that big on hockey it's in your best interest to help everyone else get better. Hope we see this kid in NA

I feel like he'll end up getting NA or Euro consultation when he hits a wall in terms of development. As far as pressure I think if it was a sport that Japan generally was successful in that might be the case but the fact that it's hockey probably lessens the intensity of that

Well, he should probably be taken out of school so he can practice 6-8 hours of skating, followed by power skating for another two hours. On weekends, this kid should be running mini-marathons, doing high intensity weight training/gym work another 3-4 hours and off to bed he goes, where he will be put through REM based practice.

I hope he has his own nutritionist, sleep mentor, a top profile agent ( ), a proper and most excellent entourage, and lastly, he needs to work on a cheeky/funny/insightful and scholarly twitter account.

Then it all begins again the next day for the next 7-8 years (of course with time off during each leap year phase

I've already contacted the family for possible high-end advertising opportunities. We're gonna get this kid to superstar status by the time he's 12 and a half!

Thought that might get your attention.

Looking forward to seeing how our lads stack up against the Sharks. The game I'm most worried about is the Duck's the night after the Kings.

If you don't grow to hate the game, you're doing it wrong.

Sedins VS Kesler should be good. I imagine he'll be on the ice against them.

Agreed, that will likely pose the most challenging game, but I would hope the guys would really get up for that one, seeing as a certain player who was too good for the team is there now...

And the after the whistle stuff will be fun...

I wonder if he'll take a run at one of the Sedins hoping to connect with a big hit?

Sounds like a kickass (frank)ing childhood. Nowhere in that paragraph does it say "take out the trash" or "scrub the toilet"
