Isles win in phoenix and say this was great road trip. 3-2 road trip against that schedule puts us in great position. |

And that's how a playoff team plays. Hope they can reel off a few wins in a row here. Let's make it 3 in a row tomorrow night. The points you pick up in November, you don't have to try to make up in March & April. - Isleshockeyman
I'd just like to see them play defense properly again tomorrow night, regardless of who wins.....because if they play defense properly every night with this lineup, they'll win 50-55 games this year, at least. |

i think this is correct and well said. i liked the lines last night, the only one that was a dumpster fire was our friends on the fourth. i was really impressed with the kids willingness to work in their own zone and go into the corners and win some battles. also the team moved their feet the entire night - Dan Petriw
that 4th line is a travesty, but I'm glad that's the issue that is most pressing. We're not complaining about scoring. We're not complaining about goaltending. We're not complaining about defense or prospect development. I can live with it. Maybe the 4th line will get their s**t together soon.
Innocuous play that stuck out most for me last night: Kulemin made a great defensive zone take away on the back check as the kings were running in transition. Kulemin busted his a** to get back and stole a pass right inside the blue line. that's the awareness and energy we need from the forwards to really shore up the "D" coverage. |

100% agree. Also note that the majority of posts today are about the play on the ice, not what's behind the bench. Take note Jack, when you play who should play, stop tinkering with line combos, the team starts to win & we don't blast you as much! |

There's ebb & flow in every game. But when the majority of 2 periods are played in your own end, that's not a surge. Not saying ALL the players took the night off, but there were guys just standing there (Ducks game), waiting for the play to come to them, not covering their man, etc. Glad they got the win. - Isleshockeyman
Exactly as far as the ducks game |

great point... also everyone was moving their feet and working hard... if they lose games with the effort they displayed last night you can live with those..its the clunkers like Colorado that are the ones that are hard to stomach |

Kulemin has bee one of the best players we have had all year. He is great on defense and offense. I am happy with the new guys so far they are all playing well |

Definitely. If the "battle level" is there, solid effort, and lose 1-0, or 3-2, that's is when you can say they played "pretty good". |

It was brutal and JT should know better. Isles do not have to rely on fancy tricks to score. Play a smart simple game with the forwards not being shy to stay close to the D and scoring will not be an issue. |

Occasionally he's going to try something like that. Not a very smart play, but, he makes up for it. "smart simple game", very true. It's amazing how effective a tape-to-tape pass can be. |

I just always love the broad brush. Apparently ONLY Sabres fans are idiots cuz a few dumbasses troll here.
The angelic Isles fans (2 of whom are banned right now, btw - not by me) could never fall under such a broad brush. |

Honestly, that's who it looks like are the odd men out, especially with the way they're playing. Conacher is as good as waived when those two return. |
