I don't know exactly the caliber of player we can get with, say Pouliot and the 1st we would get from trading Martin. I think we do get a shot at some of the young unproven or barely proven great young wingers like ....Kuznetsov, Kucherov, Nich, Jurco, Connolly, Tatar, Nino, Noeson, Chiasson, Ritchie, etc. Just finding a trade partner and a deal that make sense.

I wouldn't trade Pouliot straight up for anyone on that list.

And the flaw with the two trade idea is that it takes two trades. It's hard enough to find one dance partner let alone two.

I'd be very wary of trading Pouliot now. I would trade him I loved the young forward we're getting back, but maybe in a year or so his value could be off the charts. I would love to see more WB games.

Then you are crazy. I am a huge Pouliot fan. I've been saying all offseason as my bold prediction that he will be playing significant minutes in the NHL before this season ends. But I believe our team is better with a potential superstar young winger than a superstar young offensive defenseman just based on team needs. If Kap and BB pan out well, then great, we have an awesome roster.

To your second point ....they don't call him Jimmy Deals for nothin.

Really? Thats passing up alot of talent for a player that has never played an NHL second.

Bortuzzo looks rusty. Some trouble deciding what to do with the puck.

Sutter scored, I'm thinking Bartley just threw up in his mouth a little.

Their PP has been atrocious all year until Dallas came to town, but there is too much talent on this roster for it to continue to suck. Martin is not needed in Minny...plus we couldn't afford him unless Koivu is moved.

Here it goes bud, Martin with an assist for ya

Major throw up lol....he's loving it since Sutter's value is going up and he might be traded (highly unlikely IMO)

There's a lot of talented young forwards in the NHL, and a lot more available in next year's draft.

There are very few young defensemen with the kind of skill set that Pouliot has. You don't move a guy like that for an unnecessary and equally unproven piece, especially with Kapanen waiting in the wings (or across the pond).

Not sure the puck is right there at the players feet.

The Pens haven't allowed a goal since the 5:14 mark of the second period in the Devils game on 10/28... Almost 200 minutes... In that time, the Pens have scored 17 goals.

Talent level being equal, what do we need more?

Don't get me wrong I see your point. Pouliot does become more valuable with Martin being gone. It's worth considering, that's all I'm saying. Get a superstar winger who, along with Kapanen and Hornqvist, can play with Sid and Geno throughout their primes and still have a solid D. Ideally, the first from Martin and Dumo OR the first from Martin and Harrington would get it done. Hell maybe just keep the pick with the talent in this years draft class and find another way to address the top6 wing. Valid arguments both ways, imo.

Only took eleven seconds, you kidding me? They are making Minny look bad no matter what they do.

Our powerplay needs work. My god...this is fun to watch.

Love how our offensive strategy changed from the first to the second period. Those are the kind of adjustments I believe GMJR wanted from the new head coach.

Caps lost again in OT. The Caps were up 3-2 in the third. Nisky fell down to allow the winning goal.
