We should use nicknames for every player. It would make the conversations more interesting.

Here's the exact quote: "That’s your job. Maybe it limits your chances a little bit, but I’m not sure I agree with that that much. They’re a checking line and out there playing against a very good line, but if they do things right, they’re going to get a lot of chances offensively. "

what would you have berube do?

until they bring up Laughton (and if he turns into a great checker) what choice does the coach have?

his wording could be better I guess

but is he really going to say... "I can't put vlc's line out against the top competition on D zone draws and our 4th line is a red hot mess?"

It's all in the wording, because you question how he perceives what is happening.

I question him, or anyone, who says, for example, that Couturier/Read will score more points "if they do the job right."

They are doing their jobs; when you start on the d-zone like they do, not getting scored on is absolutely a successful shift, every time out.

But you can't equate point production with them doing the job right, like people perceive Bergeron and Toews, etc., because those guys get plenty of NZ and o-zone starts

I understand it might be uncomfortable for some dudes to say it, so I recommend getting extremely pissed off with me first, because then it just rolls off the tongue

Berube said he disagrees that defensive responsibilities are a big reason for Couturier line modest O.

@billmeltzer · 4h 4 hours ago
Berube: "If you do job right, you're still going to get plenty of scoring chances."

@billmeltzer
Asked about possibly switching 2nd PP unit personnel around, Berube said "We have roles on this team."

- Feanor

Much better material than his shootout jokes. His stand-up act is improving.

Per Carchidi, Berube thinks that Simmonds, Umberger and Lecavalier can create "lots of" O-zone cycles because of their size.

They rarely have the puck, but they're gonna cycle

This made me LOL

God bless them all because we, as fans, need them to play well, but lol lol lol lol

thats honestly just a waste of simmonds because he will never get the puck within 10 yards of the opposing goalie.

Berube's delusions aside, I do prefer that line to reuniting 10 and 40.

I think there could be a drastic change if the Flyers don't win at least two of the next three home games against Edmonton, Floria and Colorado. After Saturday there's a five day break, and Hextall didn't hire Berube.
- Feanor

You think? Huh -- can't say I would throw myself off a bridge, but I would acknowledge that as a tough deal, with Coburn and Kiwi out for this long
