So frustrating. I mean whats the rush to put VLC on the 2nd line? Why not start him on the 4th line and ease him back into the lineup?

Berube-logic.

He'll come to the right decisions eventually... just needs some coaxing (aka injuries to force his hand).

That's how I feel about Vinny.

There's just an insistence on jamming them in. They looked good for a few games, and I get they need to get him back in, but, putting 75% of the forwards in a blender???ugh

Many feel he is a waste on the 4th line. These are the same people who are stuck feeling the 4th line is reserved for goons, agitators, and vandeveldes.

Yup, the lines should have been:
Raffl-G-Jake
Schenn-PEB-Simmonds
Umberger-Coots-Read
VDV-VLC-Akeson

but god forbid they should sit Rinaldo

All part of Hexy's plan - stick with Berube until the mindset of everyone on the team is broken.

I don't have data to back it up, but my feeling/opinion is that last year and so far this year, this team plays a better team and overall game when VLC is lost to injury. When he comes back they revert to looking like an AHL team.

I don't like the message it sends to the players breaking up that 2nd line. They played strong two way hockey for several games. Potted some goals. Maybe still working on the chemistry. The coach rips up the line for a guy that apparently doesn't need to prove through play that he can improve the situation. He's annointed the spot for whatever reason.

Or: Stick with Berube to guarantee a lottery pick in the 2015 draft.

He'd better have a secondary plan in place to fix things later, or some of these guys may be beyond help.

I'm glad he's keeping the kids away from this as much as possible.

That though is very frustrating. Like you pointed out last night, Raffl, who was one of the few players who showed up for the game, barely played any more than VDV.

There is no justifying that, none.

If they want to stick with Berube for the rest of this season, fine. My only expectations are a lottery pick anyway. But he needs to go by April.

I'm not a fan, but right now, I'm not calling for his head. I do have concerns about how he would handle the youngsters, given his handling of other players

Only positive I see in last evenings debacle is Mason played a very strong game. Hopefully he can build upon that.

Losing to an NHL bottom feeder who is depleted with 5 regular forwards out of the lineup is inexcusable. The special teams are starting to come down to the level of the 5x5 play. That is a frightening proposition.

Rinaldo and VDV are wastes of time. Let Akeson play on a 4th line with some players who have some skill. The secondary scoring is becoming a real concern. Outside of the top line they are getting no production from anyone.

Lost possession 40/60 last night at ES... 30/70 when the game was within a goal/tied. Unconscionable.

Pathetic. Florida deserves a healthy dose of credit for the way the team played but for the Flyers to basically get taken apart at 5-on-5 by what might be the least imposing offensive lineup they'll play against this entire season is disgraceful.
