I think he deals a pick and a prospect.

No clue who I would target.

Kane, Marleau, Eriksson, O'Reilly(yea i know) come to mind. If NJ is up for a full rebuild i'd take a run at Zajac.

It's a decent team, but it does remind me of us a few years back. Injuries could screw them as well.

I still think Murray deals both picks on draft day. No point in drafting anyone in that range, either move up for something we need or trade for someone who can help now.

- Sabresfan-365

Dumb stuff!!!
Take a look at the first two rounds of the 2003 draft. That's the draft to which they are comparing this years. Then let me know if you still feel that there is no point to drafting in that range.

2013 draft was compared to 2003.

That draft was deep. This one is incredibly top heavy.

Id rather have a legitimate scoring winger than anymore 1st rounders outside of the top 10

2013 was the 2003 comparable, 2015 is top heavy.

And even if it were deep, it's worth noting that in the great draft of 03, there were still plenty of let downs.

For example, at 3rd overall, 10th overall and 25th overall (a reasonable comparison to where people think we will be picking)The players picked were Horton, Kostitsyn, and Anthony Stewart.

I'm not against drafting players in the 1st round, but if you have the opportunity to acquire an established top 6 player instead of someone who could be, they should take it considering the depth that's already in the organization.

The only place I have read that this upcoming draft was top heavy was in these blogs from people trying to justify their errant arguments. Furthermore you are ignoring that Getzlaf, Perry, Richards, Shae Weber, Patrice Burgeron, Parise, Brent Burns, Ryan Kesler and many more were drafted outside the top fifteen in that draft.

I can find you multiple sources stating that this is the best and deepest draft since 2003. And I am off to do so now. Can you find me one source saying it is top heavy?

Jonas Enroth wishing he would have a coffee cramp like last season.

- sbroads24

I would too if I had this defense core in front of me.
Including Myers that gets pushed over on the 1st Penguins goal like he is sack of feathers.

I heard now Teddy is being serious. The first 12 games were a fluke

There's a restaurant/bar that I frequent anyway, a very short distance from the house. If I want to watch anything, I can go there. I'm just not wasting a trip.

I'm going to stay out of the Teflon Teddy conversation for now. I'll let someone else take the abuse. You seem to be handling it pretty well.

What bothers me is when people refuse to call a spade a spade.

Nolan is doing an awful job right now, plain and simple. Yes there isn't a ton of talent, but there is more than what's showing on the ice

Gointa
Moulson
Stafford
Hodgson
Stewart
Ennis

All have 20+ goal seasons in their career, with a few eclipsing 30. Yet they look clueless in the offensive zone. I don't mind losing, but go out swinging

Marek v Wyshynski podcast also had a scout on who said similar things

Just pointing out that even in a deep draft, bad picks were made. Obviously by comparison to last year, this draft is much deeper. But as deep as say 2013? not sure I'd go that far.

Even if it was that deep. If you had the ability to acquire a young established top 6 forward for just picks and maybe a prospect, it's something to definitely consider.

Maybe if Myers ate more celery, the greatest hockey talent of the past decade wouldn't make him look like an IDIOT.

Yeah, this team has players that have had success in this league, not a ton of it, but more than enough to be considered competent. The notion that absolutely no coach can make a squad like this at least pretend to look like it belongs on the same ice as its opposition insults my intelligence.
