It might make more sense to trade Lack and have Markstrom backup Miller. The return for Lack should be decent enough.

I would be good with this if Eddie improves his play and garners a bit of attention. All depends on what teams are offering

Thinking that some kind of goalie move happens this season.

Carolina, New Jersey, New York Islanders, Philly, Dallas, and the Jets should all be looking for some stable goaltending.

If the deal is right, then I agree. I'm just skeptical about what we'd get

Benning doesn't appear to have the same idiot streak that Gillis had. Overvaluing and then panicking. So I trust, Benning will do the right thing and will only trade him if it makes the team better.

Yes indeed, a lot of press make fun of him with his public persona, I say who gives a shiyt. Just look back at what we had. Benning strikes me as a Sutter kind of guy, and you know how much they care about media perception.

In Benning we trust.

Has done okay so far, Miller and Vrbata are great additions. And until Sbisa is traded, will say he did okay enough with the Kesler trade under the circumstances.

If Bonino keeps playing the way he is now, he's done better than okay

They have Linden to be the public doll. As far as I'm concerned, Benning can hide in the basement of Rogers Arena and never speak to the media. Just evaluate talent, draft well and make good trades.

I think Bonino has been great considering he plays regularly with Higgins and Burrows. Kesler's not tearing it up in Ana. I believe Bonino has better numbers.

So far I'm calling the trade a bump.

Benning had a bad hand, but played it as well as he could.

Agreed. That's our biggest problem. We're deep in assets without much value.

Totally. He could have tried to play the waiting game with Kesler, but decided to avoid the headache. After Gillis, I have grown to hate the waiting game.

I like big Centers, but not another Swede. How about a good Canadian boy with some slight anger management issues?

It's why if you're a team in the not-quite-good-enough hole of being barely able to make the playoffs or not, like the Canucks, you need to have the best possible development system and scouting and drafting so that you can mine gems and polish them to shine brighter than what they might otherwise do so.

Which is where you hope Benning can really earn his dollars.

Our assets have value. Problem is like most on here they are either over valued or under valued. Before the Schneider trade we never would have received Mathias and Markstrom in a trade for Luongo. Or would we? I believe that deal was always on the table. Gillis was to arrogant to do that deal so he traded Schneider. Arrogance got in the way of the right move being made. My point is peoples arrogance on what players value is on this site is ridiculous at times. So to say we are deep in assets but they don't have much value is asinine. Its about what our team has and other teams need that determine trade value. So don't be to quick to say we assets without much value.

McCann would be the icing on the cake, if Bonino plays at this level.

Just thought i'd share my favourite quote of the day...

You can finish in 2nd every season... you don't show up in the playoffs. Ever.

I guess if you're never in the playoffs, nobody can knock your playoff results.
