That identity is not based on fight based wins, but having the balls and dumb pride to take on anybody, difference is Kassian is slowly showing the basic intelligence of being able to turn down outright uneven and uncompetitive brawls. Plus he is billed and has shown top six potential, unlike a vast majority of players he has fought.

At the very least, if he never improves he still has the ability to be a good 3rd/4th line NHL quality player.

How is Horvat bigger than the guys we have now, they all know what it's like to play against those CA teams, Horvat doesn't.

Still, gotta you play the hand that you're dealt. Beating EDMx3 and Calgary isn't a bad thing. Especially since a lot of people thought that EDM/VAN would be around the same range in terms of points this year.

This team is exceeding the general consensus opinion of them so far. I'm pretty impressed with Benning/Desjardins so far which is far more important in the big picture than a 10 game stretch.

Yeah, I have no grandiose dreams of even making the playoffs this year, but if your goal isn't to win the cup you should probably step aside. Simply "making strides" isn't good enough. That Oilers blog brought something into focus for me. If "Canucks" are cheaters and divers and dirty, the Oilers are losers, there's just no other word that better describes them.

I am, actually. At the start of the season I would have guessed like 3 out of 4 against Alberta. Maybe even 2-2 would not have been surprising. And 1 or maybe 2 wins against the WSH/MTL/STL trio.

Willie Desjardins is getting the most he can out of this roster right now, that's impressive even with the "new coach honeymoon" factor.

Two things surprised me

1) Ference thinks he shouldn't have even got a penalty on the play?

2) Did Eberle say "Pop the cherry" during intermission. Isn't it kind of tasteless to discuss his relationship with Hall while in the middle of a game?
