Kassian can't learn.
Here is an excerpt from his biography:
"After taking an afternoon nap, Zack Kassian was able to colour within the lines of his favourite colouring book. It was a Power Rangers colouring book that he got for his 4th birthday. He promised himself that he would finish one whole page by his birthday each year. Unfortunately, he's stuck on a close up of the red Power Ranger, Jason." -bm - Dangles13

i.e, a tough mother(frank)er.
That identity is not based on fight based wins, but having the balls and dumb pride to take on anybody, difference is Kassian is slowly showing the basic intelligence of being able to turn down outright uneven and uncompetitive brawls. Plus he is billed and has shown top six potential, unlike a vast majority of players he has fought. - Whiskey-Tango
billed by homer nucks fans? If you're a 3rd/4th liner at 23, when do you piece it together? |

Oh what it must be like to have a top 6 filled with teenagers. |

Difference is, we can afford to have a young player not reach his hyped up potential without becoming perennial bottom feeders. |

Damn shame we play these guys as few times as we do. A Cali road trip might be a rude awakening. |

Exactly my point.
At the very least, if he never improves he still has the ability to be a good 3rd/4th line NHL quality player. |

I'm not a math expert but last time I checked we could use a little size...

I don't care if Horvat is 6.4 235 he still hasn't played a game in the NHL.
How is Horvat bigger than the guys we have now, they all know what it's like to play against those CA teams, Horvat doesn't. |

If you guys weren't so dirty, (frank)ing Kassian tries to headbutt Ference and we get the penalty. |

It will, I'm expecting 2 points in those 3 games
Still, gotta you play the hand that you're dealt. Beating EDMx3 and Calgary isn't a bad thing. Especially since a lot of people thought that EDM/VAN would be around the same range in terms of points this year.
This team is exceeding the general consensus opinion of them so far. I'm pretty impressed with Benning/Desjardins so far which is far more important in the big picture than a 10 game stretch. |

Yeah, I have no grandiose dreams of even making the playoffs this year, but if your goal isn't to win the cup you should probably step aside. Simply "making strides" isn't good enough. That Oilers blog brought something into focus for me. If "Canucks" are cheaters and divers and dirty, the Oilers are losers, there's just no other word that better describes them. |

I agree based on being 8-3 11 games into the season but to be honest, sizing up each of those games individually, are you really surprised by our record to date?
EDM x 3 (W)
CGY (W)
DAL (L)
TB (L)
STL (W - over a team decimated by a stomach bug)
COL (L)
CAR (W)
WSH (W)
MTL (W)
Granted we haven't dropped any points where we shouldn't have, which is a credit to the coach and team. |

I am, actually. At the start of the season I would have guessed like 3 out of 4 against Alberta. Maybe even 2-2 would not have been surprising. And 1 or maybe 2 wins against the WSH/MTL/STL trio.
Willie Desjardins is getting the most he can out of this roster right now, that's impressive even with the "new coach honeymoon" factor. |

This, folks, is the reason Bezz is not allowed to 'touch' the Sears underwear mannequins anymore (ya ya ya, I know I'm on the list too, feckers ) - Zogg
I thought it was because I decapitated all the "mocha cappuccino" mannequins... |

Two things surprised me
1) Ference thinks he shouldn't have even got a penalty on the play?
2) Did Eberle say "Pop the cherry" during intermission. Isn't it kind of tasteless to discuss his relationship with Hall while in the middle of a game?
