Meh. I hope Benning takes advantage of the cap issues with Kings and pitches Higgins or Hansen for Stoll or Williams. Kings are in cap hell right now. Voynov suspended but with pay means cap of 4 mil counts. Kings are over the cap and desperately need some relief. Stoll as our 3LC would look awesome. Or get Williams to play 2nd line wing. - Linden_4_Capt

I don't think you demote Higgins off that line he has arguably been one of our best players. While he is hot keep him there. Don't take away chemistry between him and Bonino. - thundachunk
I am more for trading Higgins while his value is high. |

Doubt that happens unless the team is out of the playoff picture at the TDL |

Kings have big time issues next year as well. I doubt they would want to take on more long-term contracts when they need to resign Pearson, Tofoli, Nolan, Clifford, Martin and Martinez.... as well as the two guys you are offering. If they would want anyone off our roster it would be a cheap option who has one year left. So a Richardson or Matthias. |

I wouldn't I have a thing for players who work hard game in and game out practice and otherwise. Hence why I liked Mitchell. Nothing makes a person more successful than hard word and perseverance. Guys like that get my respect. He is a deadline guy if you are to trade him. A team making a push for a cup would love him for a run.
Edit: Nucker beat me as trading him at the deadline. |

Burrows hit was late but to suggest that it was dirty is preposterous. I do think he should get a 1-2 game suspension for it because we're trying to get rid of that crap. He knew it was a late hit too. It was pretty obvious to me that he regretted it when he got back to the bench.
Wether he gets suspended or not, he deserves it in my opinion. |

Okay, so Mathias for Williams. my point is we have enough NHL caliber players that are cheap that we can trade for cap relief to Kings for guys like Williams and Stoll. Williams is winner at all levels and has a second gear in the playoffs. |

Burrows is so misunderstood. A girl I know has his poster above her bed so he can't be a real bad guy now can he? |

I agree. Canucks should use their cap space to take advantage of teams who need help. Stoll would be nice. We need a face-off specialist!!
Or we can wait to the trade deadline and really take advantage of a non-playoff team that just wants to unload a big contract. ala LA with the Gaborik deal with CBJ |

Worst thing about "Burrows-gate" is that it will make it harder to deal him to the Habs - Mungo

TDL deals are always an overpayment. We have 2 immediate needs that we can address with our cap space. Face off specialist or a scoring winger with higher hockey IQ to play with Bonino. To address that at TDL will cost us a lot more. |

Emelin is one of the more dirty players in the league, he had this coming. He made a bad pass, tried to make up for it by drawing a penalty... League will see this and not do anything with Burrows.
On another note, how about Subban having a hissy fit with Daniel. What was that all about? I love how Bieksa keeps coming to the twins rescue, Subban hid like a little baby when he saw him coming. Next time Dorsett should just start punching Plekanec or the team's star, that will teach them a lesson. |

Well that depends...above her bed headboard or above her bed ceiling? If ceiling then he is dirty, but if headboard then that is idol/worship category. Perfectly innocent. |

Gaborik went for Frattin and a conditional 2nd round pick. That's pretty cheap IMO. top ticket guys like that don't go for much since there's not much of a market. Most of the top teams are capped out and can't add a big contract like that at the TDL. If you have cap space and you're still in the playoff picture it's probably just you and a handful of other teams bidding on one player. Smaller market = cheaper price. |

I am perfectly fine with Subban doing that. It was refreshing to see Daniel stand up for himself. I think that little quibble that they had going took Subban off his game. The difference between Dorsett doing the same and Subban is Dorsett is paid to do that, where as Subban is paid to contribute on the scoresheet. |

Gaborik had and NMC and was willing to waive for Kings only. Hence the low price. Also Gaborik at that point had only averaged 40 games per season. Kinda hard to trade away top assets for someone that only plays about 1/2 a season. |

The NMC makes a difference. I don't see Vancouver as being an undesirable destination.... unless torts comes back!
Top notch guys who are on big tickets don't really go for much in the cap world. Especially if they have NMC. Look at Iggy, Lu, Gaborik. |

I get tired of the people who refuse to acknowledge that a hit to the head isn't black and white illegal. Intended hits to the head are. The player turns his body at the last second... not Burrows' target.
I think the hit was borderline late. A 2 minute penalty at best. Refs evened the goal up later by burning Bieksa on his crosscheck that should have sent the Gallagher away from Miller, but he redirected himself.

OMG, these Habs fans here are stupid.
If Burrows intended a direct hit to the head, he would have had to come from a different angle. Instead we have the wussy turn his body up and towards Burrows at the last second,,, first contact is not the head either.... but final contact.
Its just a Cliche that Habs fans know their hockey. These bunch keeps proving it. |

I'm sure I'm probably addressing what is old news, but I just had to say this:
What excuse(s) are left in terms of the twins performances (namely, we've now played some very good teams and the Sedins have not let up - in fact they seem to be getting better).
(had to rub it in, Vantel ) |
