So

Late hit

Hit to the head

3 games suspension

Only Vancouver fans disagree

Nothing to see here

That being said, congrats for the two points. Habs will eat you alive in Mtl.

Good luck making the playoffs homies.

Burrows is a dirty (frank), he's got a rap sheet as long as... as long as the Canucks Stanley Cup drought.

Habs may easily make the playoffs, but look at your record this past week over some of the worst teams in the West. Makes you dream if Buffalo, don't it?

This thread is why Fosco doesn't post anymore (among others), it made me throw up in my mouth a little.

Common misconception, a wine can be both ripe and fruity and still dry. Dryness refers to the amount of residual sugar, which for quality red wines is almost always negligible. Wines like Apothic etc are actually sweet with upwards of 20 grams per litre of residual sugar.

Definitely 3 $30 bottles, unless it is a fancy dinner party and you're breaking out the fine china and silver, or if like Lefty you make too much $ and $90 for a beverage is no big deal

Dill pickle chips and cider sounds like a great pairing. A few new beers I've tried recently: Hoyne Helios, a traditional German style golden lager $6.75, Phillips Octofox, a less bitter IPA (8 different types of hops) and a Scotch ale (forget the name). All were excellent.

If you are a Whiskey fan, I recently attended the Raise the Macallan event, where we tried the Gold, Amber, Sienna and Ruby. Sienna was probably my favorite, but all were excellent, on the mellow side with not much peat smoke. They also served a whisky sour made with Macallan Amber, Apricot brandy, simple syrup and lemon juice, so good!

Some chat from Elliotte Friedman this morning…

“I mean, Berglund’s name has been out there. I know, like last year, I believe both Kesler and Garrison were approached about going to St. Louis and wouldn’t waive their no-trades for those particular situations. And I know that Vancouver liked Berglund. So I think there was some potential in the air there.”

“I believe it. I mean, they should ask high. And they traded some of their No. 1s for Miller last year so I wouldn’t be surprised. But like I said, I know that Vancouver likes Berglund. I know that there was some talk last summer with Kesler and Garrison. They wouldn’t waive to go there. I wouldn’t be surprised if that kind of a thing was discussed.”

Maybe last summer, but I don't see it now. Berglund doesn't upgrade the roster in a meaningful enough way to make it worth any cost to acquire him unless it's a swap of say Matthias.

Another swede I guess. Big body but does he use it to intimidate? He's another centre right? Skilled player who's good for at least 30 points a season. It would definitely be an upgrade but is this the kind of player the canucks need?

I think he plays third line center for the Blues? He can put up some decent points, once had a 22 goal 30 assist 52 point year (2011).

Maybe it's size and face-off potential?

Edit: just looked - he's 44.6% on face-offs so far this year.

If they trade for Berglund where does that leave Horvat? Canucks have a lot of centres right now.

Probably just internet chatter for Friedman, I don't think Benning would have any interest in him, maybe Gillis did, but not Benning.

I really don't think Benning is looking at any big moves as of now. WD is just finding out where guys fit in his line up. More pieces will fall into place and holes will open up and down the line up in a month or so.
