Just listening to Burrows professing his love for all things Canadiens during his youth - trade his ass back home!!!

Sure revenue, from a fans perspective, why? Use the season as a stepping stone (one of many), get a decent draft seeding. Like what's already happening this season with other teams.
- VanHockeyGuy

Taking a step down is not a stepping stone.

From a fan's perspective, I'd prefer to watch hockey this season, as opposed to whatever Buffalo and Carolina are playing. To draft higher then those two teams, you won't have to just be bad, you'll have to be historically bad. No thanks.

I agree. And yet, a month into the season with the Canucks playing better then we could have predicted, and people are ready to blow it up because we're not a Stanley Cup favourite? What?

Not suggesting that at all. They are not "McDavid bad" I agree. They are not Playoff good. I see them as a top 10 draft seed.

This. If we are not picking top 3 then why not try and make the playoffs? If we sell off assets at the deadline it should be because we are already out of it and can take advantage of other teams, not so that we can be worse next year

25 teams would be blowing themselves up if that's how it worked. The more and more there's parity in the league the better chance a lower seeded team can win it all during a good playoff run.

I can see the prep talk now:

"Okay guys, we're facing long odds, so what I want you to do is dial down the effort. We can't struggle in the playoffs if we don't make them."

Just play the games, entertain the fans, and manage the assets properly....oh and keep FA out of everything.

Wait until the injuries start and we are forced to test our Defensive depth. That's quite important for any team with playoff aspirations. Anaheim has taken 5 D in round 1 since 2005, the Canucks 1 (Luc Bourdon RIP). The Canucks have passed on D just like Edmonton has until recently. No D = No playoff success, and we haven't even talked about face offs yet. Canucks = Top 10 Draft Seed

We'll see. The Canucks aren't the only team that will have to deal with injuries.

Sure OK we make the playoffs and have zero injuries (a big IF), do you like the odds of going into round 2?

Isn't it obvious, you can save on equipment costs as he can still wear the Jersey he had when he was 12.

Yeah, Dallas is loaded with depth on D. And Anaheim, how's their D depth? And San Jose is so loaded on D depth that they decided to put an effective power forward back there.
