First point of contact was the head. Doesn't matter about intent anymore.

Burrows will get a few games and it's deserved.

i don't think he'll get anything. Emelin was just awkwardly off balance and it made the hit look worse then it really was. Plus he just saw his tape to tape pass to canuck connect and i think he tried to sell it personally since he knew he was in trouble. He did come back so there was no injury on the play.... which does come into play when making suspension decisions.

Maybe a fine, not really sure because they're so inconsistent with this stuff.

Leafs used to be in the Western Conference, so for us older guys it makes sense to dislike them.

It's a classic. Typical situation, older man younger boyfriend. Sitting together trying not to look gay. Ian pulling out the cash and the younger guy running to get drinks.

I've seen it a million times in this city.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

If Gillis was GM Burrows would get 1-2 games. We have Benning now so zero games. sad but true.

Well, I don't know if you noticed but the Canadiens are leading the league right now
- bezz44

They are in the east ....they played in the west they would be a fringe playoff team at best. They came out west and couldn't beat the oil and should have lost to the flames, and lost to the Canucks.

All the oilers wins have came against the east....it's just easier over there

Would be Burrows's first suspension if it gets through...hard to call I guess.
Somewhere between $5,000 and 2 games?

Since he has a history of poop, probably at least 2-5 games.

On a positive note, Bonino has 4 goals 4 assists in ten games plus he's a +4

Canucks 3pts away from 1st overall in the NHL. Utica tied for first place overall in the AHL. Canuck prospects ripping it up in the AHL/WHL/OHL. Life is pretty good right now.

Ryan Kesler 11 3 4 7 -3
Nick Bonino 8 4 4 8 +4

I think I'll keep an eye on their comparable stats this season. On a team like ANA, Keslord should be dominating.

Kes is definitely one of the best shutdown centres in the league, where as Bonino is not.

Bo wont be back up till Sunday if they takes advantage of the full conditioning stint. I doubt it makes sense to rush a unproven guy in. If they call someone up it will be Grenier or Jensen IMO, both have the size to play in the NHL now and the skill to play in either Burrows or Kassians spot.

Archibald is another who might get a chance as he has looked good so far in Utica and wasn't too bad in the NHL last year.

I really hope Sestito gets moved, if he hasn't already been in for Matthias, I don't think he can earn a spot over the younger more skilled guys.

Why should he be dominating, he is basically in the exact same position that he was in with the Canucks.

2nd line C with some tweeners on a team with a great 1st line. Gets lots of PP min with stars and lots of PK time.

I expect him to do exactly what he did in Van, which is be a very effective pain in ass to play against 50-65 pt player.

I'm guessing Tommy gets some games, more than anything out of respect.

I hope so. The guy actually has some skills. I really think he can change his style of play to fit this team. Will he who knows.

I disagree the roles are the same. He's playing behind Getz and Perry now. I would argue that (at times) he was ahead of the twins towards the end of his tenure here. He was seeing team's best defensive pairings. Now behind Getz and Perry he will have an easier time, open the ice up for him.

Kesler was expected to generate points on this team. His defensive game was set aside because of the lack of team production. Huge pressure. All that should be gone now. I expected him to come out flying but his play has been unspectacular so far.

He definitely was. I really am starting to wonder if he still has it. Let's see how he does this season and next.

Fun game last night at the Rog!

Hard to know how the new Department of Player Safety will assess Burrows' hit on Emelin. We'll find out soon.
