The funny thing about top 4 defenders is you need 4 of them. |

our d prospects are legit - Lucas Neilson
I personally don't understand the love affair with Finn. He has played only a couple Marlies games, hasn't looked that great and is a minus player. He's oft-injured and from what I have seen of him at the rookie tournaments, isn't really anything special.
I actually think MacWilliam is more of a game changer at this stage in their development. Hopefully Finner comes around and proves me dead wrong, but for now I just don't see it.
In order, I place our D prospects: Percy, Loov, MacWilliam, Nilsson, Finn
Mac and Nilsson could be interchangeable. |

Finn's one of those quiet, all-around effective guys, and was supposed to go in the first round. He may be just struggling to break into the A right now, but he's still young... there are also lots of d-men on the Marlies.
Hopefully they don't give him the Jesse Blacker treatment, especially now that Percy's heading back to the Marlies. |

i don't disagree. He had a good pedigree coming in, and I really want him to succeed and become a top prospect.
But I'm not about to give him any credit he hasn't yet earned, just because I have high hopes |

Could be because he was calling everyone fanboys(a la Uggie), and people started responding to that... but maybe there's some stuff that got deleted.
It doesn't seem too out of hand right now. |

Excellent in the Memorial Cup run. Good leader, composed and a pretty sharp kid. I think he'll be decent. |

What?? How so? He was injured and when he finally got into the lineup played great from all accounts. |

every single fanbase carries the following assumptions, no questions asked: if you have an AHL dman under the age of 22, he's a legit, no doubt about it future quality NHL defenceman. |

Really? Guys get placed higher on a depth chart because of draft position?
Biggs was a great OHL captain too, taken in the first round. Has he proven more than a guy like McKegg? |

To be fair, draft position says as much about the scouts as it does about the player... He's gotta prove he was worth the pick. |

And then you flashed a V for victory sign, told everyone to keep calm and carry on, and lit up a cigar. |

He didn't play great. He played average, and was a minus. 2 games in, its early to say either way.
Look, I get that you want him to be this top notch prospect. Eventually, i hope he gets there too... but he isn't yet. |
