Why did your team sit Weisse against Boston? Are they that scared of him taking a beating from a guy recovering from wrist surgery? And a well deserved beating at that. - Ihatebrianburke

The Ales Hemsky signing begs to differ... - Iggysbff
I thought Hemsky played well with Spezza in Ottawa.
I am getting burned by him this year in the hockey pool also. I thought he had another good year or two left. |

Once again this Myers trade talk is comical. |

I love Ristolainen, but right now he's nowhere near as good. I know he's incredibly young, but look at what Myers did at that age. - sbroads24
With the D prospects you guys have i wouldn't be afraid of losing Myers. Especially if the goal is to land one of McDavid or Eichel this season. Plus you get Nichushkin. I don't think you could go wrong making that trade |

I've said for a decade that he's one of the most talented but dumbest players in the league.
He's poop. |

Is 8 games enough to throw the towel in his case ? |

I guess I'm just really surprised by all the Myers trade rumors (and moreso by the undervaluing of him)... he has been compared to Chara his entire career and, if it does indeed take d-men of their stature so long to develop, why would the Sabres shoot themselves in the foot and give up on him now?
I'm not going to sit here and make off-the-wall trade requests or anything like that, not my job or place... I just believe that all 30 NHL GM's have to think about Chara and the Islanders->Ottawa->Boston saga every time they look at #57.
The Sabres are not going to be a contending team for AT LEAST a few more seasons so if GMTM's plans go accordingly wouldn't we want a ~27-year-old Tyler Myers on that team? - HowDoYouDrew
Depends on how they develop him. The way I see the team's management working I'm afraid Myers won't ever get to that next step with Buffalo. I'm actually starting to wonder how much of a star Chara would have been had he not been traded. |

I may get torn apart for this offer but I am curious how it will be responded to.
Edmonton sends the 2015 1st round pick, Jujhar Khaira, and Jeff Petry to Buffalo for Tyler Myers.
What do you all think? My thoughts behind it are that 1st round pick more than likely could be another lottery pick for Buffalo which would give them 4 first round picks this draft, Khaira is listed as a LW on the Oilers site which would give them a 6'3" 214lb prospect who many Oilers faithful believe will be an NHL player within a year or two and Jeff Petry who would be able to either play for them this season and if they liked his play, could try and resign him to a longer deal or with the want for dmen this year, they could flip him to another team for yet more picks. prospects or players.

Grigo, Nichushkin, Zadorov.
Talk about needing a lot of Vodka for the dressing room.

No offense but this is the last thing Buffalo needs. Tim Murray(GM) has already stated they need to start turning quantity into quality.

True but aren't they just starting the rebuild more or less? |

I'd do what the Islanders would do and top 5 protect that pick. Heck, even top 10.
I'm not sure the sabres take that though.

Again, Buffalo is no longer in need of picks. They have already started the rebuild.
F - Armia, Grigorenko, Girgensons, Reinhart, FAsching, Carrier. Larsson
D - Pysyk, Zadorov, McCabe, Risto
With 3 first round picks this year they are going to add to that. 1 of those likely being a top 2 pick.
Myers will need to return an NHL ready top line talent. (Eberle, Nichuhskin, Mantha) All names that have been mentioned. |

Sure but taking the Oilers 1st round pick could be a shot at McDavid and Eichel although I hope the Oilers are outside of that range at the end of the season. |

I was just about to say, even though the value seems good on paper, there's a decent chance the Oilers regret that trade instantly without the top 5/10 protection. Mainly because unlike Anaheim/Detroit, there's much greater chance that Myers doesn't succeed in Edmonton. |

Nope, wouldn't do that deal either. It's clear at this point the Sabres want more than anyone else thinks Myers is worth. Probably going to be months of Myers rumors but no trade unless the Sabres reduce their ask or someone gets desperate and gives in (or most likely a little bit of both). |

Depends on the pick, an unprotected pick from Edmonton is very enticing, not going to happen but just saying. |

Agreed, GM on the hot seat is the clincher there |
