Billionaire William Foley is reportedly interested in putting an NHL team in Las Vegas.

Based on the report, Foley's goal is to have the team established for the NHL's 100th anniversary in 2017-18. It's believed that Foley might achieve that by purchasing the Arizona Coyotes. Andrew Barroway recently reached a deal to gain a controlling stake in the team, but is reportedly willing to flip the team. The NHL won't comment on whether they've had discussions with Foley, but they did deny any reports suggesting that Foley has plans to buy the Coyotes and move them to Las Vegas. Another possibility is that the NHL will expand and Vegas will get a team that way.
